Casa Islena Inn, Rincon

The location is great, right on the beach! The pool is OK Strangers regularly walk in the gate and use the shower/bathroom; truly dangerous, watch your kids and wife! The restaurant is the best in the area The guy who runs the bar is a twit and must be chasing away business When folks are dining, it seems like they are sitting in your room, they are that close to the rooms The management is fake-nice and lethargic, won't go out of the way to do anything for you, the staff is surely No breakfast The place is as dark as a crypt after dark, and deserted, not nice for children. Like a horror movie You are close to several eating places and you can walk down the beach for an eating joint overlooking the ocean for breakfast, lunch or dinner The beach is too wild to swim in, never for children The best part about this place is you can sit in a lawn chair by the pool and really relax The price is reasonable Too bad the management, like so many places in PR, is so lame I would go back if I could not get a room at the Lazy Parrot Frank :)

The beach view from the hotel is magnificent. Looks right out of a travel brochure! The beach is ideal for surfing - mid sized waves with very strong currents. There is even a surf rental place next door. The beach here is NOT for casual swimming. I am a intermediate swimmer & nearly got swept away by the currents & waves! I don't recommend the beach by this hotel here unless your a expert swimmer or a surfer.

We found the place via the Internet and were lucky enough to get a place. The Parador is situated only a step away from the beach what is a nice athmoshpere during day and night. To have a bar and restaurant inhouse is pretty convienant but can get a bit disturbing too, especialy if you have the rooms on the ground level. The room we had was big and clean but to be honest - room 103 is a hole. Its very dark and you have the kitchen with all smells, noises and radio music next door. So if you say we will be on the beach all day and spend the rest of the night at the bar- its ok. If not- try to get another room or go somewhere else. The tourism and infrastructure around is still developing and you will find only a small shop or another restaurant within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful- with one exception. I heard a "No" from the lady at the reception a couple of times to often and she seems not realy be flexible enough to make good recommendations or find solutions for the guests. She did not even know that there were washer/dryer units only a block away! To summarize it: great location and if you are lucky with the room you will enjoy!

The room was large and comfortable, the location fabulous, the restaurant accomodating with vegetarian fare that was fresh and very tasty, and the staff was first rate! Excellent all around, but owners would do a huge positive move putting privacy treatments on windows, especially one(s) in the bathroom/shower! We had to put a towel on the window as they are level with the outside walk.

Recommended from a friend about Casa Islena. I am an engineer for the Nuclear Power Industry in the USA, but like to vacation in different places between the USA and the caribbean every year. Tow years ago my family and I took our vacation in PR and visited Casa Islena in Rincon. We visited the main office located at the beach in an area with few other resorts and we have never regretted. This is a wonderful place with great people and with a very nice restaurant with great food. We are natives to the Island, but like to vacation in the area of rincon once every other year. Casa islena also have another resort located not too far from the beach resort on a hill overlooking the ocean and the beach. This is where we stayed. It was a brand new brick building with rustic furnishings and wall picture decorations, wrap around terraces on each floor (5)a very nice private swimming pool, excellent for small children as well as adults too. We were some of the tourist that first stayed there since the opening that same summer and loved this place, the full moon at night, the sounds of "El Coqui" and the wind, etc. It was fantastic! We definitely recommend this place 100%. "The one behind the hill and on the hill". We will most definitely are planning to go back for another week this coming summer! The Garcia's Family!

This little hotel offers total privacy. It is extremely clean, but the parking area needs fixing up. However, in general, this place offers a real private caribbean experience.

Stayed from Nov 17 till the 21st.Very clean,great surfing.Had the place to ourselves.Booked for the same time period next year.Very pretty,pool,hot tub great location.Continental breakfast included .

The warmth and kindness of the people and their courtesy, make this gate-away the perfect spot to relax and enjoy every minute of your stay. Love the view, specially the perfect sunsets in Rincon.
