A great deal in Erie for a clean comfy room!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/5/11
Likes: Price. Definately! All the other hotels we checked were over $100 for the night and the Tallyhotel was under $60 with the tax. The room overall and bathroom was clean and tidy, nothing fancy. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean and crisp and smelled like Bounce. Good towels. Lots of TV channels. Hot coffee in the morning. The staff was friendly and the night clerk brought us a few extra pillows to our room even though out was late and we offered to come and get them. No indoor pool.

Will never stay here AGAIN!!!
By Amber, 8/10/10
A group of use for the past 2 years have been taking a motorcycle ride to Erie last yr we stayed at this hotel and it was great. So we decided to book rooms ahead of time so that we were all together and to make sure we could get a room. BIG MISTAKE!! we should have stayed some where else. we were placed on 2 different sides of the hotel and 2 of the 4 rooms had NO TOWELS and when we called the front desk and asked for some they told us that they would try to get us some. After asking 3 times over a 2 hour period with no result I asked to speek with the manager he told me that he couldnt help me and if we wanted a refund we could leave and they would rerent our 4 rooms. With no where else avalible we had to stay. NEVER AGAIN. will spend the extra money to stay somewhere else!! They also tryed to make my Nehew and his Girlfriend who drove up in a car ahead of use pay an extra $50 each because they were 19 yrs old and did not have an adult over 21 with them even though i had booked 4 rooms in advance!!

Simple Stay. Simple Price.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/5/10
I got a clean and simple room for a great price..compared to what the other hotels in the area were charging. Most of the other hotels wanted your first born in order to stay ($120 to $160 a weekend night) This hotel is older, yes..and can use a touch-up, as any older hotel does. The staff is friendly and helpful and down to earth--- real people! It is not a fancy place but a simple, homey place. I have no complaints.. I have a problem with the people who do nothing but complain about every little thing that they find wrong at such places..they think life should be perfect for them and compensated in every way when it is not..

Not worth it
By Andrew, 5/27/09
First off, we had to pay $20 more than the sign advertised outside. I would not complain about this but it was a digital sign so they easily could have changed it if all the rooms were booked. There was a spider and two ants in our room that got near our food.

ABSOLUTELY DISCUSTING!!!!!
There was actually an old cigarette butte in the corner of the bathtub, used a towel to clean the bathroom floor! If I wanna do that, I'll stay home! Curtains were only 1/2 hanging , and had to put them up so ppl didn't look in our room, cracks around the door. Toilet ran off and on....ALL nite long. I am PISSED!!!!! Told them about it, and they basically did NOTHING! They should be closed down!!!

We LOVE the Tallyho-tel in Erie
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/07
My family stays at the Tallyho-tel in Erie several times per year, on our way to visit family & firneds back home. We happned upon the Tallyho hotel a few years back and have been faithful guests ever since. I'm guessing the managers have changed because we can see the nice (and probobly expensive) changes in the place over the last year or so. Some things we love... * LOVE the location - right off the highway. * LOVE the rooms - quaint, old motor lodge, good old fashioned Americana, reminiscent of the early days of highway travel. * LOVE the staff - eveyone is always so helpful & friendly (they delivered extra towels to our room late at night, after leaving the pool open for our kids after a long day of driving). * Safe & secure with key-card locks that automatically deadbolt when closed. (The old door locks were replaced wth modern credit-card-like keys since our last visit)

DISGUSTING BATES MOTEL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/07
it was the most scariest motel i have ever been to in my life. We stayed all of 10 mintutes and decided to check out as fast as we could. I think we were there less then 10 minutes. Thank god there were vacancies at serveral other hotels. The door did not look strong to keep anything out. the ceilings had water damage and there was an approaching severe storm coming, we did not want to find out if the door and ceilings were strong enough. We did not feel safe at all. I do not reccommend this hotel unless you are totally clueless and care free ..... If you know what i mean ! We will never recommend anyone staying there even its my husbands ex-wife.

Scary Experience
My friend and I stayed at this hotel due to no vacancies at surrounding hotels. The bathroom was tiny and gross and so was the room. There was a teenage boy outside our window trying to look in our window and peep-hole. My friend opened the door and he just stood there staring at her. He also threw cigarettes on my car. The cable was broken. A call to the front desk said they would be right in to fix it. They never showed up. My friend and I didn't stay the night and when we left early and asked if we would get our money back (we had been in the room 1 hour) we were told that once we went in the room, there were no refunds. I would NEVER stay there again. I'd rather sleep in my car!

don't do it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/15/06
THis hotel was absolutely disgusting. The rooms were diry and stained. The pillows were flat and soiled, and you could literally see through the pillow cases. The sheets were thread bare. Without a word of a lie, there were two holes in the wall!! You could see the light coming in around the door frame and the lock was a flimsy chain lock. I can't believe that someone gave this a four out of five rating--were there eyes closed when they entered the room? It is a bad sign when they hand you the tv remote at the check in desk. Just don't stay here. There are several hotels in the area for a little more money.
