Decent Hotel, Questionable Neighborhood
The hotel is a lower echelon Comfort Inn, however it is still a decent place to stay. It was kept clean and the staff was average friendly. It is ~4-5 miles from the nearest Metro station (Suitland).
The breakfast offering was typical Comfort Inn fare: waffles, cereals, bagels, etc..nothing special, but no problems either. Small outside pool, but was clean and had lifeguard - although the lifeguard did yell at my 10 yr old son about bringing a room towel with him.
The neighborhood has that feeling of teetering on being unsafe, but we didn't have any problems. The highly visible presence of police at local stores, however, tended to make one uneasy about the environment.
The drive into the city was very easy (if you don't use the Metro).
All in all, if the hotel was located in a better neighborhood, I would recommend it without hesitation. As it is, I'm not sure if I would stay again, despite the value for the money.
