Sleepless at the Graylyn

At the moment I stepped up to registration, I should have listened to that nagging feeling that this place was not worth the money. The young woman who registered us for the room was although polite not at all helpful - neither welcoming us to the hotel or providing any service other than taking our credit card.
We were put in a room that was very small, with a very, very small bed (intended for one rather than a couple) despite having requesed a king-sized bed. Our room was 90 degrees when we got into it, and despite having turned the thermostat down to 54 degrees it stayed at 90 degrees until about 4 am after the hotel had the brilliance to finally cut the heat. We had already repeatedly complained because sleeping in a 90 degree room was impossible. Maintenance finally brought a fan, but it was broken. They also continually drug fans into neighboring rooms (evident at all the noise). Then when the heat was finally cut around 4 am, the pipes clanged for about an hour as they cooled. We finally got to sleep around 5 am, but were then woken up by the cleaning crew at 8am - they were banging mops and supplies in the hallway. When asked if they could possibly come back another time we were met with the "When am I supposed to start my work day?"
The front desk manager was not very forth coming with solutions or apologies. Instead of offering any corrections on their part, they said, "I am sorry you feel that way" and "Can I bring you a cup of coffee."
This hotel has some serious management issues, which is too bad as the estate grounds are beautiful.
