Holiday Inn, Wilmington

We had booked our room 3 weeks prior to our arrival date, we booked a smoking room. When we arrived at 10:00 pm we were informed that there were no smoking rooms availible and we would have to take a non-smoking room. If we smoked in thr room we would be charged a $200.00 clean up fee. I showe them my confirmation that stated a smoking room and they said in the morning they would change our room to a smoking room,( which they did). We spoke with another guest who had the same problem and he said that he booked 4 weeks earlier. Just confirm that you are getting what you reserved before you arrive.

Check-in was good, the staff was great! The hotel is very nice. We got the exact room I reserved and it was more than I expected. Smelled a little mildewed-need more or better ventilation-but was a great King Suite. Will definitely stay here again.

went for my daughter's wedding. the rooms were nice.pool in working order.maid service in a flash for extras.room service for breakfast good. food hot and to the room quickly. anything we asked for, the staff made sure we got it. front service-bonnie-excellent with answering questions about stores close to the hotel. and then there was the bar, and nick. nick is the bartender (at this time) and he was awesome!!! friendly, great with local resturant reviews, and best of all.... great martini maker!! thanks to everyone! the allen-west wedding party

I was staying in Wilmington for Easter with my girlfriend. I had made the reservations in advance and looking forward to our visit. Every was fine up to my day of departure. I received the bill, and I had been charged for an extra night that I was not there for. The front desk staff called me a liar and dishonorable. "Our system is perfect" is just one of the ridiculous lines made by the General Manager. Obviously there is something wrong when one of their guests is getting charged and extra 125 dollars. I will never stay at another Holiday Inn after my experiences here.

Took a mini vacation and spent a weekend at this hotel. It wasn't inexpensive, but we paid the price to be able to swim indoors in March. The hotel was conveniently located, it was clean and the rooms were nice. The two downsides to our stay was first, the lack of free breakfast (with a $135 room price, it would've been nice). Upon check-in we were told that kids ate free with a paying adult. When we sat down for breakfast, there was no menu provided and the only food visible was the breakfast buffet. We all helped ourselves and when the check arrived, it was for $30. Turns out the kids were free only if they ate off of the childrens menu (which was never provided). We complained and the charge was quickly and pleasantly taken off the bill. Secondly, the shower/tub was incredibly narrow. WHen standing in the shower, the curtain was pressed up against the person. There was barely room to lift one's arms to wash. Overall it was a nice hotel and the pool satisfied the kids. Would consider staying again.

This hotel is located on US-17/US-74 near Hwy 132 with convenience to beach, downtown historic district, UNC Wilmington college, Interstate 40 and close to 50 franchised casual dining restaurants. The hotel is impeccable and the rates are reasonable.

my husband and myself went from may 29th to june 2nd - the whole time there the internet did not work - poor staff with the breakfast there was one person cleaning tables on the first morning and none were done - we could not sit anywhere nor order anything because we were standing - when we asked if someone could clean the table, we were told we had to wait because there was only one person and she was doing room service. Then on another day in the late afternoon we were in our room and a man came walking in because they had us down for a different room and gave him a key and he thought it was his room. I was upset about that because if we were not in the room at the time, we had alot of expensive items there which could have been stolen and no one would know. The man left and we went out only to find we could not get back in our room because they changed the code on the keys so we had to go back downstairs and get new keys made to get in. We were credited about 80 dollars for the room incident and internet not working. I feel we should have been compensated even more for the inconveniences.
