Sky Valley Motel and Chalets, Bartlett

We go here slot but this year it is evident Dave and Maureen have been busy upgrading things. Our cottage 5 had been completely repainted inside. Noticed exteriors of other units resided. Grounds impeccable as usual. Kids playground very good. Enjoyed river, although a bit lower than usual. Kids had trouble deciding on the 8 cereal choices at free breakfast. Very happy with everything.

My wife and I stay here in Oct 2006. In Cabin #3 Bed were only full size but the fireplace in the living room with the deck right off of it was very enjoying. Kitchen was good size and very quiet that time of year. Really enjoyed are stay and We are going back next week for 4 nights and staying in one of the apartments. The fall is a very nice time up there and at night it is very quiet so sitting outside is very pleasant. Dave is really great and they work with you on any problems you might have. In fact they are running a special the week after our stay so my wife ask him if her would considered givign us that rate since it was the week before and He said ya ok. Save us some money and still got free breakfeast in the morning. Great place.

If you're thinking of booking a cottage (cottage #8, specifically) at Sky Valley Motel & Cottages in Bartlett, I hope you like "rustic". And, I hope your definition of "rustic" includes the following phrases: - Floor lamp in the kids' room held together with drywall screws, L-brackets, and electrical tape. - Bedside table lamp in the kids' room not held together with an old, dried-up piece of duct tape. - A bathtub faucet that gurgles incessantly, because it can't be turned off. - Electrical outlets without cover plates. - Smashed up baseboard heaters (OK, this one's not that big of a deal in the summer). - Rusty, old stovetops with knobs that keep popping off. And, then there's the stench of stale cigarette smoke that greets you in the main office as you make your way back to the Poolside Cafe, and the fleas that we saw in the bathtub as we were packing up, and the non-existent electrical outlet in the phonebooth-sized bathroom. Needless to say, we won't be returning anytime soon.

Went during father's day weekend,neighbors were noisy,firecrackers at midnight.left a 130.00 electric toothbrush,called, front desk claimed she looked and talked to housekeeping,then later said she would talk to housekeeping.We will never go back to that place it is horrible.
