Bad Experience
The room was very musty and stuffy when entering Rm. 18. My granddaughter, 20 yrs. old, and I had to leave the front door & sliding glass door open to get some fresh air until 1:00am. There was only a small one in the bathroom. Then it was cold. The adjoining room wall was paper thin as I awoke and heard a lady talking about us talking until 12:30am. I could hear the lady real good. I then proceeded to get a shower and found that we had no hot water. I ran the water for 5 minutes on the hot and cold position and in the sink. I called the office and she had me come over to get a key (in my PJ's)at the office so I could get a shower in room 51. I had to wait in line to get the key and then she gave me terrible directions on how to get to room 51. I was walking around the place for 10 minutes. What a joke. After one hour, I was away from my granddaughter in room 51 taking a shower. Meanwhile, the maintainence man pounded on the door of room 18 where my granddaughter was and scared her. He said that he had to come into the room to fix the shower. She was scared being in the room alone with him. When I got back to room 18, I could not believe what happened. A few minutes later when I went for a walk when she was getting dressed (after her shower), he comes back and says he need to fix the towel rack in the bathroom. I could not believe it that they would send me out of the room and then send a man into the room with my 20 year old granddaughter and scare her like that twice. I had gone to the office again to get a key to get threw the gate in the back for the trail walk so they knew that I was gone again. Can you believe it!!!
The towel bar was broken, the heat lamp in the bathroom was broken. Room 51 was much nicer was taken for the second night. I would have left but all of the rooms were full in Paradise. We had no hot water that morning and were sent to another room to take a shower with terrible directions that had me walking in my PJ all over the place to find the room. The sink out of the bathroom was plugged up. The carpets were dark and ulgy along with the wall paper. Room 51 was bright and lighter and nicer. Our room had flat carpets and hand rails with a phone in the bathrooma and plastic caps on all of the cornors of the walls. What a nightmere. We also had no extra blankets, so I had to go to my car and get an extra blanket for my bed. My granddaughter had an extra one that she had brought with her. The heater was old and stiky and didn'w work well. The room was dark and shaby. I will never stay there again. I paid $85 a night plus tax. When I asked for compensation, and told my story to the owner, Sandra Klempa, she asked what I wanted her to do and I said that I thought it would be fair if she gave me one of the nights free and she laughted at me and said that she was going to do nothing and proceeded to hang up on me. What kind of person is she to treat someone like that!!!
The Comfort Inn if much nicer and less expensive and they are really nice. I have stayed there three times but they were full on the Tuesday before the weekend that I came. I will be sure to call them ahead of time to get a room there and not be treated like this again by unthoughtful owners as this. I don't think that the police department would like to hear my story of the maintinance man coming in the room with my 20 year old granddaughter alone after they gave me a key to another room and knew that I was gone. Not only once but twice. The second time she had to go outside and wait there to feel safe. Please don't stay here and put a damper on your weekend. It was a nightmere.
