Very Nice Motel!
By Chere, 09/03/07
After staying one night in another questionable establishment in Morro Bay and getting our money refunded we decided to check this place out. At first glance we were impressed. A nice continental breakfast in the lobby, with seating, very clean, works of art on the walls and corridors. Wine and cheese from 5-7PM. Our room was very nice and clean with a fireplace and a balcony, the beds were very comfortable with pink sheets and big puffy pillows! The location isn't close to the embarcadero and on a main thoroughfare but you still have a view of the rock and I would highly recommend this motel!

!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/25/06
some of these reviews are right on and a couple must be from very pessimistic people. we just had the best stay at the masterpiece. from the time i made the reservation to the time we checked out it was a great experience. the people who work there (maids and front desk, even maintenance) took the extra steps to accomodate us! we got a very inexpensive room ($59) just like it says and got a lot of use out of all the facilities /spa, fitness, guest laundry, wine & cheese, breakfast (which actually IS better than most continental one you find along the way). go find out for yourself if you like this place or not! i wonder if some of these 'complainers' are EVER happy! just a hint though, if you stay on a weekday it is cheaper....on the weekend the rate went up!!!!

awesome find
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/06
we were travelling up the coast and decided to stay in morro bay for the night. we loved the look of the masterpiece so we stopped to check for prices. we were so happy with what we found. the guy at the desk was very welcoming and let us look at different rooms to pick the best one! it was cool to see all the different rooms! we were sold and decided to stay two more nights and check out the little town. we found a cool little home away from home! how great is it that we only have to travel two miles to go on vacation to get to the one of the most beautiful places in california?! we plan on returning very soon and will definitely stay the the masterpiece again and again! we recommend this hotel to everyone!!!

lovely home away from home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/06
what a lovely place to stay. for the price, it exceeded our expectations. the staff was very accomodating with restaurant recommendations and even gave us little directions printed up so we couldn't get lost! i love this place, it is very charming and quaint. the cookies are dangerously delicious thank goodness they have a workout room (which i used religiously!) i will stay here again and again! props to the owner, what a clever idea to have art work throughout the place! i give the masterpiece two thumbs up and 5 stars!!!

does not live up to advertisment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/06
By the 3 star rating we expected better.the "continental" breakfast consisted of cereal, toast, coffee 7 tea. the fruit was out the day we arrived and the same fruit was still there 3 days later. We had forgotten to remove our do not disturb sign so they did not clean our room alouth they has access to the connecting room we had aslo bookees. We we called for towles they brought one set that looked liked they had been around for many a moons. We would not return.

Prices From $149.00
By BryanS, 06/23/06
I had a very bad experience with this motel, when I called to book a room, which allegedly starts at $59.00 a night the person that I talked to laughed and asked me where I got my info. The minimum for any room here is $149.00 so if it doesn't fit into your budget don't waste your time. the price listed on yahoo is a teaser.

Great place - Great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/06
If you are thinking of visiting Morro Bay or Hearst Castle , this is a great place to stay. The motel and the room we had was clean and comfortable. What I did notice also was how quiet it was even when we were relaxing at night , we couldn't hear our neighbors at all ( unlike some places we've stayed). It only took about 30 minutes to get to Hearst Castle, 2 from the restaurants( the Dockside had good food and plenty on your plate),and central to great beaches and parks. They have an indoor spa that holds 11 people, nightly wine and snacks, and morning breakfast. We will stay here every time we go to Morro Bay or Hearst Castle.
