El Terado Terrace, Avalon

My husband and I just went to celebrate our anniversary and we LOVED this hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and the room was lovely. Ocean view, nice kitchen, quiet, and very clean. Our room did have AC I don't know what that other person was talking about... Bring your walking shoes though, it's close enough to walk to town but you do have to go up the hill on your way back, so don't drink too much. I highly recommend this place to anyone going to Catalina.

If you’re anything like me, you like to stay somewhere that feels like home when you’re away from home. El Terado is just that. Big comfy rooms with full kitchens. A guiet, immaculate hotel. Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of town but close enough to walk everywhere. My husband, daughter and I stay there at least once a year, and have for the past 8 years. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Their prices and hospitality are unsurpassed. I’m so glad we happened upon it. The staff at El Terado genuinely cares about your happiness. They prove they want you to come back with their style and service. We have stayed at El Terrado Terrace several times now with the last visit in June 2008. We love the quiet and clean rooms. Great remodeled kitchenettes and a good walk up the hill to keep us fit! We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning. Ivan is very helpful!

We Stayed at this Hotel in May 2008. The rooms are a spacious 4 to 5 hundred square feet with full granite kitchens, completely equipped, full sized refrigerators and stoves. The rooms feature king and double double beds, large 37" flat screen TV's with DVD players. It was very quiet at night. The staff was very nice, we were greeted with kindness, our room was ready earlier than expected. We would like to thank the manager for his hospitality and great information on the town. We had a really good time.

We visited the island on March 29, 2008. Initially, I was hesitant to book this hotel because of not so nice reviews. But I have no choice,all other hotels had no vacancy. As soon as we got to the site, we were greeted by a cheerful,cordial,very friendly lady owner/manager. I immediately felt like she was a family. When she showed us our room, what a pleasant surprise! The place has been completely renovated. Everything is new: carpet, bed, kitchen appliances,bathroom, paint,a 32 inch flat screen TV, and granite kitchen tops. Contrary to one review,we had a very restful night, did not hear any noise. Using the backdoor of the hotel, it takes about 5-8 minutes walking to the front beach area. I will not hesitate to stay in this hotel again especially with a very accomodating and helpful owner/manager.

we stayed here last weekend and the hotel is pretty nice we had a nice view, but there was no AC and it was a long way from where the boat docks up a big big big hill...not worth almost 200 dollars

We've had wonderful experiences at the El Terado Terrace, and come back to it year after year. The personl service, clean and quiet rooms have become our perfect get-away.

I enjoyed the view from our room, There was plenty of help if needed. Its out of the way (up hill)on a quiet little street and just a short walk from the main front street. I had a clean and comfortable experience and would recommend this spot to anyone.
