terrible!!!!!!!!!!!
By DannyT, 3/11/12
When I first got here I found two lamps with electrical shorts in the wires. shower was very bad had hardly any water pressure. Internet was great the first day the second day I started having problems. called the front desk and reported it and was told "well I have internet up here I dont know what to tell you." I had to put a pillow between the headboard and the wall because everytime you move the headboard would bang into the wall loudly. overall not a very good place to stay

AWFUL!!
By Christin, 8/31/11
The place is awful!! It smell like smoke, there were burn marks on the blankets, the walls were yellow and worst of all the place was covered with ants. You can just imagine how upset I was to go in and find ants in my daughters bed. We didn't even spen the night we left same day. I do not recommend it to anyone.

I will never stay at this place again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/08
The place was pretty gross, the pillows were probably 20 years old, very lumpy, old and uncomfortable. I accidently left my wall charger for my phone so I called and asked to have them mail it to me since I live 4 1/2 hours away. I told them to please charge any costs to the hotel room and was assured that they would be mailing it that day or the next. I called 4 days later only to be told that the box that would be used was still sitting there along with the charger. A very helpful, nice woman Karen said that she would transfer me to the owner Joe. I told Joe my dillema, my phone is completely dead and if he could please send me the charger. He was helpful at first and told me it would be sent as soon as somebody went to the post office. I asked him very nicely, if he could tell me when somebody would be able to go, could he give me a time line, so he got angry and told me to come pick it up myself and hung up on me. I have never been treated so nastily especially from the OWNER and it shows how little he cares about his customers and the quality of his business. I would not recommed staying there to my friends, ememies or strangers.

NO PROBLEMS HERE --
By Elmira, 10/7/08
After reading several negative reviews about the Inn, I was a bit hesitant to stay there. However, I had a friend staying there and I stayed at the Auld Holland Inn for 7 days/nights. I found the rooms to be a bit outdated, but then maybe it's just the right atmosphere for a Auld Dutch Inn ? The room was very clean, the staff was amicable. I had a room with a kitchen and everything was in working order and clean. For a $59.00 room you can't go wrong. I will more than likely be making regular trips to Oak Harbor and won't hesitate to stay here again and again.

We Loved Auld Holland Inn!
By Sheryl, 5/27/08
We absolutely loved our stay. I took my friend to Auld Holland Inn just to give her a break after her daughter died. We wanted to explore Oak Harbor and take in a few sites as we had only driven through Oak Harbor and not explored it. I must say we were VERY IMPRESSED with our stay and are eagerly looking forward to more visits this summer. We were happy to find such beautiful accommodations for only $59 + Tax per night (summer rates). When we arrived, our room was ready and what a delight to find it absolutely spotless clean, and furnished with charming ruffled curtains, an antique dresser, marble sink, and two comfortable beds. It was also furnished with a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave & phone & TV. The hotel has two beautiful waterfalls, swim pool, sauna, exercise & jacuzzie and a fantastic old Holland style windmill for an office also filled with lovely antiques and Holland charm. The hotel clerk was more than helpful, furnishing us with hot water & cider along with windmill shaped Gingerbread cookies and a personal tour of the nicely landscaped premises. There was also a free continental breakfast. My-Oh-My. We'll definitely be back!

Most horrible motel experience ever.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/9/07
I stayed in this motel for a week while on a business trip. The first sign of trouble was that they processed charges for the full stay when I checked in rather than when I checked out! I've never stayed in a motel that charged for everything up front. The first night I checked in, I decided to go to another motel and asked for a refund. The staff could not figure out how to refund the charges and ended up double charging me. When I asked if I should talk to the owner in the morning, I was advised that that would be pointless. The staff seemed very unhappy and afraid of the owner. While I was there, the navy was performing an exercise where jets were flying low to the ground, one after another, until 11:00 pm. It was impossible to hear anything over the sound of the jets much less sleep. The pictures of the rooms on the web site made it seem as if the rooms were filled with antiques, but the only antiques in my room were the sheets and the television. The rest of the furnishings were garage sale throw aways. The kitchenette was a plus, but everything in it was dirty and had to be washed before using. I had to ask for refills on the coffee and condiments every day because they were not resupplied when the room was cleaned.

Disgusting
By MichelleC, 11/6/07
My family and I are military and were in the midst of a move overseas. We wanted to stay somewhere with a kitchen after we moved out of our home so that we could cook meals and not eat out every night for 2 weeks while we were waiting to leave town, so we chose the Auld Holland Inn - not the main hotel, but the mobile homes off the side of the Inn. Where to begin? When we moved in, there was about a 1/2 case of beer left in the fridge, what looked to be melted ice cream in the freezer, and it was FREEZING inside. This was to be expected as the heater had been turned off while no one was staying there. When we walked in, the maintenance worker was inside the place and said the fire alarm was hanging down so he was there to fix it. We should have left then. The place is fully furnished down to the pots, pans, dishes, etc. Well, most of the dishes that I pulled out of the filthy drawers and cabinets were dirty. I bleached down the cabinets and fridge before I put any of my food into them. The bedding looked like it was supposed to be white, but was really an off shade of gray. The faucets in the bathroom leaked. Also in the bathroom was a huge stain on the wall next to the mirror and on a whim I tried to wipe it off with a rag and it came right off which told me that they obviously didn't do very much cleaning between visitors. The stain appeared to be wet cobwebs or something, I'm not sure. My daughter has allergies and they were in full force here. The carpets felt dirty when walked on with bare feet (which I did once down the hall and not again). The decor had a Brady Bunch garage sale motif - meaning very old and not well taken care of. The vinyl sofa was so filthy that we bleached it down and blackened a washcloth. My son was eaten alive by some sort of bug that we never did find out what it was. There were obscenities written inside one of the closet doors. We ended up staying a total of about 48 hours of what was supposed to be a 2-week stay. On the plus side, the water pressure in the shower is the best I've seen for a hotel. I have asked for a full refund, but at this point have only received a refund for the days we did not stay. I am working with the BBB to get a full refund.

NEVER AGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/07
We stayed in one of the trailers. 1st, the front desk person didn't know how to check us in. The floor under the carpeting was rotting away (I could feel a hole under the carpet), the bathroom window wouldn't close, the bedroom had no heat source (we were there in December), there was broken glass on the floor in the bedroom, the bedding smelled of very strong of bleach, the mattress was very saggy in the center and lumpy, the towels were too small to dry anything more than your hands and one of the arm chairs in the living room was broken.

Never Again
By Dana Higbee, 7/31/06
Noisy location, unhappy staff that doesn't communicate between themselves, mixed-up reservations, and very uncomfortable beds. The motel owners seem to be unavailable to support their staff. Not recommended.
