Nice People
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/13/09
Basic motel which lacks the chain amenities but has the charm of a family owned enterprise. The owner is the fire chief for Bluff. If a chain motel opened in Bluff (very unlikely), I would still go to Recapture.

wonderful refuge on the road
By agnes, 03/24/08
I arrived pretty late at the Recapture Lodge after having a little car accident and I was still shocked and my knee was hurting a bit. I got help from everyone this day, relax in the spa, coocked for myself in the nice set up kitchen and finally watched TV for a while. Awake early the next morning, I found fresh coffe near the reception - coffee is free and you can organize a breakfast for a very good value. I was told to go to the Comb Ridge Cafe to find an internet access (free with any treat) and if no one in there you can stay online as long as you want. Hotel team is really welcoming, helpful and has very good knowledges about the area and things to see/do Kind of home away from home If around again, for sure I will be back

If you love open space & animals
By Grand Junctioites, 12/27/07
My husband and I have been coming here for three years. We love the casual, comfort and the warmth of the owners. This place is not golf course groomed but it is perfect. We spend hours hiking and enjoying each other's company. We have never had a disappointing experience and one of my favorite treats is walking the dogs early in the morning to the river and back on their trails that are 100 yards from the rooms. If you want Spa and thick cushy towels and great TV reception try another lodge. This place brings peace without the hoopla.

Great for people with allergies
By Toni, 02/07/06
I was surprised when I saw that the overall rating for Recapture Lodge is only 3.5. Perhaps that's because they have no telephones in the rooms and no Internet access. However, that's exactly what makes it a great place for people who really do want to "get away from it all". It's second great strength is that they use NO scented polishes or cleaners in the rooms--ordinarily a big problem for people with chemical sensitivities and allergies. They have an outdoor hot tub and a small pool, both very pleasant and homey, not like the ones in most motels that have no character. I love this place, and go down the main drag to Twin Rocks Cafe where they have computer access for $2 for ten minutes (I think that's right; at any rate it's not expensive for long enough to check your email or send a file). The Recapture Lodge management offers the use of a phone in their office when you need to make a call, and they have a wireless handset so you can walk away from the desk for privacy, and they will accept messages for you too, so if you REALLY need a phone there's one available. Nice people and the place is very popular, so call well ahead of time for your reservation. They have housekeeping rooms, by the way.
