The Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn welcomes you to one of the most beautiful, adventurous and scenic locations in Northeastern Arizona. We are located in the heart of the Navajo Nation and just 3 miles west of the beautiful Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Come explore the beauty of the natural landscape, ancient Indian ruins and scenic canyon walls that the monument has to offer. As our guest of the Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn you will enjoy one of our comfortable, Southwestern style, spacious rooms. Relax in our indoor heated pool, which is open 24-hours all year round. We are glad to arrange Jeep, horseback, hiking and Mercedes Benz Unimog tours for you into Canyon de Chelly National Monument. While in Chinle, we welcome you to visit our gift shop that features only the finest in Indian arts and crafts. While visiting the Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn please try our full service restaurant. We offer American, Southwest, Mexican, Italian and Navajo cuisine. Our restaurant features a unique pictorial record of Navajo life with recognition going to our World War II Navajo Marine Code Talkers, Native Royalty, Young People and Native Celebrities. Our walls are traditionally decorated with Navajo Rugs from the Adopt-a-Native Elder program; the purchase of each rug provides income for Navajo elders and the majority of the purchase goes back to the weaver. Another unique aspect of the restaurants decor is the display of the Navajo clan system banners. The clan banners created are handmade by local artisans. Navajo entertainment is featured on Thursday evenings providing music, drama, poetry and dancing. It gives our guests a deeper understanding and respect for the Navajo people. That's why we say at Junction Restaurant, you will find that Tradition is Served Daily. **Our indoor heated pool will be closed from January 19, 2004 to February 8, 2004, due to renovation. **

Best Service Ever
By sailor boy, 08/03/08
Its rates are not too high for a tourist area. I have paid much more. Lack of continental breakfast was no problem because of restaurant near by. I had a flat the first day in and received outstanding service by the help. They called local tire shops, pumped up my tire too - once on saturday and again on Monday when shops were open. I will be back there next year four a couple of nights

Good Choice!

The best part about this motel is that it is located right beside an excellent Navaho restaurant. If you want mutton stew and fry bread for a reasonable price, this is your place. In addition, the rooms are clean and the service is friendly.

Not a Best Western for my money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/06
On check in, the desk clerk explained that this was a Best Western that did NOT provide a complimentary continental breakfast because, being remote, they couldn't guarantee getting supplies. He recommended the adjacent restaurant instead. When I signed the bill at the restaurant, I was handed a Best Western pen to use. It turned out that the hotel owned the restaurant. Presumably, they could get supplies for that, but not for the more limited continental breakfast. So why did the clerk treat me like a half-wit? He won't get a chance to redeem himself. Without the BW tradition of a breakfast, next time we stay at the Holiday Inn down the road. It looks a better property anyway. On other fronts, the Chinle Best Western property is non-smoking but the room was a bit smelly even so. It is conveniently situated but watch the time difference in summer.

The Southwest at Its Most Authentic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/05
Although it is not the "posher" of the two motels in Chinle, Canyon de Chelly Inn is spacious, well located for sightseeing, clean and friendly, with large rooms and a great swimming pool. But the stellar attraction of the Inn is its surroundings--the eternal beauty of Canyon de Chelly (pronounced "de shay") and the friendliness of Chinle, which lies on the westernmost point of the Navajo Reservation in Northeastern Arizona. This area is Native American to the core: you'll hear the Navajo language spoken; you can visit Diné College, a center of Native American studies; and surely you'll explore the apectacular Canyon area by car and along hiking trails. The Inn has a gift shop with a tempting selection of Navajo art objects. The Visitor Center at Canyon de Shay offers a full range of crafts, as well as culture and history exhibits. Tread lightly as you visit: everyone you meet who is not a visitor lives a Navajo lifestyle, graced by one of the most spectacular natural environments on the continent. We recommend the drive up the mountain to Tsaile (pronounced "saily") for a glimpse of the traditional culture of this area. Stay till evening for the colorful desert sunset that surpasses any other to be seen in the Southwest. If you're seeking peace, harmony, and beauty, you'll find them all here quietly awaiting your visit to Canyon de Chelly.
