Everything was nice..beds good and to be able to open the windows at night was great!! It made for wonderful sleeping.. The only thing is they could use better towels. Some we had were abit rough!! But overall it was a great place!! Across the street was a wonderful small place for breakfast with great food!!! We enjoyed the whole experience!!

Real down to Earth

The price was right and the rooms were clean. the location was close to everything in cody. Two complaints some of the towels need to be up graded. the A/C wall unit was a little noisey.

Nice Accommodations
By jandsbrake, 07/30/09
The Big Bear Motel was a nice place to stay in Cody. It was rustic but comfortable. The only complaint we had was that the towels were the size of small hand towels. Otherwise, we were very pleased. The hotel is right next door to the arena where the Cody rodeo is held nightly in the summer. We will return. The price was reasonable too for the height of the tourist season.

Ugly outside, nice inside
By AnthonyH, 07/21/09
Pillows smelled like old urine (kids). Pricey this time of year. Inside of rooms nicely decorated. Clean pool. Potholes in parking lot. Nice proprietor.

Great Place! Amazing Owners!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/09
The Big Bear Motel was on our way to Pocatello, ID and it was a great place. Bill and Jody are the owners and they treated me very nice. I had many questions about the area and the front desk helped me out i recall his name was Dutch. I would recommend everybody to stay there of all ages.

Far better than expected!
By Kristin, 07/17/08
We stayed at the Big Bear Motel's "new" townhouse for 2 days in early July during a 2 week roadtrip. We were travelling with our family of 4 and my older parents. The place was immaculate (!!) and it was quiet (!!) and we had FREE LAUNDRY right in the townhouse. What a fantastic thing to have during a road trip! The kitchen was great too so that we could prepare our own meals - after a quick trip to WalMart (near the motel's main office) we were all set to cook for ourselves. We made french toast & eggs for breakfast and lingered over our coffee... So nice to not have to eat out every meal. If we ever get back to Cody I will definitely be trying to book this place again. The beds were comfortable and they provided maid service during our stay too - emptying the garbages, fresh towels, etc. - which we didn't expect since we were only there 2 nights and it is off-site from their main motels. It was definitely worth the money to have a kitchen, laundry, living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms!!!! When we had at first made reservations for roughly the same amount of money to stay in an old cabin that just had one small bathroom and 2 cramped bedrooms. I'm so glad we found this place online and changed our reservation

Big Bear was more than we hoped. .
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/06
Big Bear was so close to the city of Cody with it's sites & museums. Big Bear had great feeling of being part of the western community - even walking distance from the rodeo. If you needed anything at all, Bill and Jody will do whatever they can to get it for you. The rooms are cozy, and when inside our room, we didn't hear the kids next door to us. We stayed several nights, so we really know. The view from the back of the hotel was nothing short of breathtaking. The horses on the premises make it a home-like and family oriented place to visit. We are so pleased with Big Bear and hope we can visit again sometime! Suzanne & John Thomas; Minneapolis, MN

Lved the name
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/06
We stayed here as it was close to the rodeo, rooms were small and overpriced, our room smelled like a person got sick the night before from a little to much party time. The pool was cold, but what do you expect for a outdoor pool in Wyoming. However we did like the laid back atmosphere and the pony's out behind the office.
