Chief Motel, Custer

Comfortable beds, free Custer State Park passes, $2 breakfast tickets and $2 6-inch sub sandwich tickets. Would recommend to everyone.

Very reasonable. Terrific location to access all the surrounding areas. Stay three nights and get a free pass to the park. Nice rooms. Not fancy but clean and affordable. What more could you ask.

The man I spoke with was extremely rude to me!!!! I was trying to inquire about the hotel - I called & asked for the website so that I could have a look at the place & he hung up on me!!! I called back & told him that we must have been disconnected & he said "no - i hung up on you" (!!??) Then he asked me a bunch of questions about why I was calling. He questioned why I would want to stay there if I live in Rapid City!?? He even aked why I wanted the website info?!! GUESS HE DOESN'T WANT MY BUSINESS!!!

I liked everything! Easy to find, great people, GREAT beds, the rooms are large enough, the breakfast is superb!! I can't say enough good things about this motel. Way above most of the chain motels I have stayed in. If I ever get back to this area, I definitely will stay here again.

We had a great time in Custer and our room at the Chief Motel was great. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids). My kids enjoyed the pool tremendously. It is one of the largest indoor pools I have seen and you can't forget the $1.99 breakfast...what a deal! Our 95 second tour from Bruce of all the roads to take was very helpful. The Chief Motel has become our tradition. Our family gathers there from all over the country to make the walk up Crazy Horse in June. We can pack into the rooms, sing, laugh, and listen to our Dad (who will be 90 this year) play the accordion. Clearly, it's the "INN" place to be. I don't believe I just said that. We're doing it again this year. We love the Chief.

We had a great experience staying at the Chief Motel in Custer. The owners were fabulous about directing us to some places we had not seen yet in the area that were absolutly breathtaking! Take advantage of the $1.99 breakfast. It was more than you could eat and GOOD!

When my husband booked this room I was sceptical because it wasn't a well known chain. I was pleasantly surprised! What a clean room! I felt so comfortable, even more so than in a well known chain. If my husband decides to ride the Mickelson trail again we'll be back to the Chief Motel!
