Brisbois Motor Inn, The, Prairie du Chien

My husband is on the railroad and stays at the Brisbois when in the area. Well, my kids and I stayed with my husband at the Brisbois and it was very clean. I was impressed. The room we stayed in was very cozy and felt very peacful. It felt like staying in a old fashion cabin, but it was so clean! I am usually very picky when it comes to hotels, and I personally enjoyed the stay. Very nice air conditioning system as well and a nice playground for the kids to play at. We will be coming back next week for a longer stay. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable. Just got telling a friend about Brisbois and had fun exchanging stories about unique motels.

WELL TO START OFF EVERYONE WHO WROTE BAD REVIEWS MUST BE VERY HIGH. THIS MOTEL IS AMAZING AND SO WHAT IF IT IS A LITTLE OLD AND OUR STAFF WELCOMES YOU WITH A SMILE AND WE TRY OUR BEST TO MET YOUR NEEDS.!!!!!!!!!

Location is handy. Staff is not professorial. Good beds.

Brisbois Motor Inn has been getting a bad reputation for far too long. Now we're under new management, new staff, and new rates. Expect a lot more from now on. Yes, Brisbois may be an older motel, but everything is better with age. The rooms may be a little "dated", but they are clean and accommodating. You will hear freight trains throughout the day and sometimes through the night, but you will find the same thing at every lodge in Prairie du Chien.

Have stayed at the Brisbois for over 20 years. Our last year there we were treated horribly! Rude staff, room we booked was taken. Room we were given was substandard! Price quoted was also not honored and in fact was much higher. When I e-mailed to complain and ask for someone to contact me I was ignored, 3 times! My sister and her husband also stayed there at the same time and were treated very rudely. We wil not come back. Much better places to stay. One would think they would have at least made an effort to keep us happy.

The hotel room smelled terribly musty! Upon entering the room the overwhelming musty smell took your breath away. The furnitue is beat up and the shower in the bathroom was absolutely disgusting! We didn't spend one more minute than we had to in there. Unfortunately every other hotel was booked solid - otherwise we would have left. The service was terrible!!! We didn't stay for the breakfast, we wanted to get out of there as fast as we could! Hopefully someone writes to AAA to tell them they need to revoke their rating. The only thing Brisbois Motor Inn deserves is an F!!! Also, if you're looking for a good night's sleep you won't find it there. Several times during the night freight trains came through - the windows shook, beds shook and it left us lying awake. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! Bad, bad, bad!!!

Loved the Breakfast. Make your own hot homemade waffles, hot sandwiches,fresh dounuts. The price was great. No indoor pool but have an outdoor. Will be returning this summer. :)

First off while my husband was checking in I used the hotels public restroom,very dark,no soap or running water in sink but there was plenty of cigarette ashes.The halls and our room smelled,It was like an oven aleast 100 degrees when we walked in, our bathroom was dirty there was even (what looked like)blood on our toilet seat cover.My brother and his wife also had a room,theirs had holes in the carpet,dirt,black marks & holes on walls,dirty bathroom and had no toilet paper.The breakfast was terrible,it was like a day old gas station microwave sandwich.We wouldn't have stayed if there were other vacancies but town was booked for something.We will never stay again or recommend this place to anyone. For the same price($110.00) or close go down the street a couple of block theres some much nicer hotels.Anyone who gave the Brisbois Motor Inn a good review as to be an owner,relative or someone who does'nt get out much.

We had a awful room and then found out they had much better rooms in the back where they called it the new part! The tub was very dirty and old. rust in the tub and water was dripping from the faucet all the time. I would NEVER stay here again!!!!! They have many much better places in this town.
