Little Italy, a small neighborhood just east of University Circle, is home to this brownstone built in 1896. Its facade contrasts with a modern, light-filled lobby. Each of its guest rooms is different, but all feature European antiques and Italian linens. Once primarily used to host students and foreign guests, patrons began to enjoy formal dining in 1985. This activity continues, and an upscale restaurant operates on the premises. In summer, guests can dine outdoors, choosing items from a light, bistro-style menu.

8 reviews for The Baricelli Inn, Cleveland
Staff unresponsive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/09
Our experience at the restaurant and inn were mediocre, but being ignored by the staff regarding a followup quality/billing complaint is inexcusable. They did not return phone calls, and when I did catch them in they did not follow through as they said they would. A big disappointment.

What a nice place to stay!
By Thomas L, 07/05/09
The Baricelli Inn is in a Prime location to visit the Museums in Cleveland. The Bed and Breakfast style set up is ideal for those who already know Cleveland and all the wonderful sites it has to offer. The Staff is extremely helpful and accomidating and the rooms are lovely.

Get your act together!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/06
The experience started off well and went down hill fast. They were greeted (2 couples) and shown to their respective rooms. A king room had been reserved but was they were given a queen. The other couple got the King sized bed! Breakfast turned out to be a disappointment, they were offered scones or quiche then after having eaten were told that omelettes and fruit were now available. TOO LATE!It was my sons birthday and I had called early the week before to tell Sara that I wanted to have their room charged to my credit card. She assured me that it would be no problem..THEY WOUND UP PAYING FOR THEIR OWN ROOM!! There are only 7 rooms in the Inn, I think they need to be more organized..

WHAT A DISSAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Marilee, 06/14/06
We arrived in our room which smelled and the plumbing was being worked on. Also, we didn't sleep all night because of the plumbing noises. We had a 19" TV. We would have rather have spent our money at a Holiday Inn Express which would have had cleaner and quieter accommendations.

overated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/06
We have eaten at Baricelli Inn 4 times, each time thinking we'd give them another chance. But, to no avail. Baricelli's has to be the most overated restaurant in the city. Poor service and average dishes.

A Perfect Dining Experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/06
First time for us. Very courteous staff from the valet service, the servers, coat check; a nice variety of dishes, delicious food, lovely ambiance, perfect service. An overall delightful experience.

A little disappointing
By Bob, 01/01/06
My wife and I ate our New Year's Eve dinner at the Baricelli Inn. The food was good, and the service was splendid, but the ambiance was awful. We were crammed into a tiny room with another table for 2, a table for 6, and two tables for four. We could hear every conversation from every other table in the room. My chair and the chair of another patron sitting behind me partially blocked the only entrance to the room. People entering or exiting had to squeeze between the two chairs. Nearly every time one of the staff passed through they bumped into my chair, making it an annoying experience. Jodi, our server, did an exceptional job. She was sypmathetic to my frequent chair bumpings, and she advised the staff to be more careful. She was helpful and knowledgable. My wife and I both ordered the tuna carpaccio appetizer, the fish trio (not a menu item), and a side of fingerling potatoes. The tuna was excellent. I had to finish my wife's fish because she is averse to fatty sauces. I can't blame the chef for that -- beurre blanc is beurre blanc. I enjoyed it. For desert we had the sorbet trio and the ice cream trio, all home made and to die for.

The Best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/28/05
The Baricelli is wonderful! I used to live in Little Italy, and when I return to the Cleveland area, I try to stay at the Baricelli. It's small & intimate, and close to all the great restaurants, University Circle, and Coventry. The rooms are lovely--very cozy and inviting with big comfy beds. Heck, they managed to even make breakfast romantic! I just can't recommend this place enough!
