My sister and I stayed here for a night on May 5th 2007. We stayed in what was supposed to be the best room they had because of the Lake view and the view out of the dirty window was okay but not at all worth the extra price we had to pay to have this room. It was so dirty and the mold/mildew smell will just about knock you off you feet when you first enter the room. The paint had been scratched off the doors by maybe a dog and everything was so old and outdated. We had to stay because of a time issue we had but we decided not to use the moldy old shower. It is so worth it to pay attention to these reviews, because this place really should have a health inspector come and check it out, there is no way they can be running this place without having any major violations. The funny thing is that I am one person who usually tries to make the best of a bad situation as well as not complain too much but people really need to be warned about this place. I mean even when I got home and unpacked the clothes that I left in my suitcase carried this terrible odor and had to be re-washed.

you gets what you pays for
By Hillbilly Fairie, 8/22/06
I was suspicious when i booked this hotel via expedia: $80 a night for a lakefront room with 2 double beds and a sofa bed? I wanted that much room so my husband, daughter, doggie and i could spread out (yes, they allow dogs!). but when we arrived, the room was not as advertised: no sofa bed, and it was tiny, just big enough for the beds. included were a microwave/fridge that looked like they were from 40 years ago... the rug was icky and so was the bathroom. the pool was tiny. we wanted a place where we could walk to the ferry and whatever port clinton had to offer, but not only was the hotel on the noisy highway into town, it was not within walking distance of ANYTHING. so we checked out within 10 minutes upon finding another hotel (the commodore perry hotel and suites) that accepted doggies and checked out ok. the service desk woman was VERY NICE -- nothing against her -- and we didn't have to pay for that 10 minutes we were there!

Unimpressed

I would not stay here again...First thing is that staying in downtown Port Clinton is horrible. Last time we stayed at Sleep Inn just outside of downtown and it was much cleaner, much more pleasant, and much more convenient. Someone banged on our door for almost 5 minutes at about 3 am and if we weren't exhausted we would have left right thn.

We'll definitely be back!!!
By Chicknamedsam, 9/13/05
The service was very friendly and helpful. I had two queen beds, and besides the hairdryer and coffee pot, there was an in-room microwave and refrigerator that even had a freezer. Very clean rooms, and the photos don't do it justice. On the lake, it's fun to collect shells. Nearby is E. Harbour state park with the very best swimming beach. Lots of dining to choose from, and many nearby sightseeing attractions. We'll definitely be coming to this place again!
