Hotel Julien Dubuque, Dubuque

The hotel is beautiful, the rating needs to be moved to 4Star...the room is beautifully decorated, amenities great, restaurant is lacking the professional touch..the Chef is very capable but isn't allowed to create his own menu, the Filet Mignon was delicious as well as the mashed potatoes, but I wasn't able to order regular french fries, they only offered beer battered fries..it just doesn't go with the elegance of the restaurant. The location is wonderful..my friends were able to pick me up with ease. Since it was a Saturday night that I arrived the Main Street was asleep the whole time I was there...they stay closed on Monday...the 7-11 saved me & they are very close & have lots of goodies to get you through.. The Staff at the Julien are very nice, I was able to get a free Shuttle from the airport & the young man Paul is a great asset to the Hotel Julien..a fine person to send representing the Hotel Julien. I would stay there again..in hopes the restaurant has improved.

Has been renovated and is hip and stylish lobby, bar and the rooms are great. Reminds me of Chicago hotels. Aveda products; coffee in room and mini-fridge. Bathroom shower and towels great. Service and room was a hundred times better than what I received at a 5 star hotel in San Francisco.

My daughter and I had the most wonderful stay at the Julien last week end. From the time we stepped into the beautiful lobby until we checked out of our fabulous room, we were treated so warmly. Everything is so plush/classy from lush robes to the Aveda hair/body products provided. The lovely continintal breakfast was an unexpected surprise. The staff could not have been more helpful. We only wish that the pool/spa had been open, but it was still under re-construction. We can't wait to go back.....our stay was totally worth the 2 & 1/2 hour drive and we HIGHLY recommend the Julien to everyone!

The woman managing this beautiful hotel was the rudest, most obnoxious and ill-equipped manager it has been my displeasure to come across. If not for her, this hotel would warrant a very good rating. The rest of the staff was very accomodating, and even embarrassed by the manager.

I like the Julien because it is right downtown where there are some very nice restaurants and shopping areas. Their prices were more affordable until a couple months back they raised the rates. With no coffee makers or hairdryers in the rooms and the carpets getting shabby the rate increase to me is questionable for what you get.

The Julien Inn has been a favorite place for us to stay when in Dubuque, IA. Clean, great location and excellent staff. A great historical place to stay!

i love this place because they have cheap alochol, and also i have been there when a wedding was going on and they made sure i wasn't near all those guest, it was very quiet in the area which i was suprised

Unless you want to try to be double charged and have the police called on you after your room has been paid for, locked out of your room while all of your possesions are in your room, stay elsewhere. Manager Michelle Rolling is extremely unprofessional. Dubuque is a wonderful vacation city, and worth every dollar spent as long as you stay in a different hotel. Avoid a nightmare. There are plenty of good ones, just not the Julien Inn. I am giving this rating a one star as there is not an option for zero stars.

I recently had a birthday party for my grandmother at The Julien. I was overcharged for food and drink and not allowed to take the leftover food I paid for home with me. I tried to resolve the situation like and adult by speaking to the manager, Michelle Rolling. However, she is completely inept at communicating with people on adult level. When speaking with her, it is very similar to dealing with an insolent todler. I would NOT reccomend spending hard-earned money at this establishment!

it was beautiful i would recommend it to everyone there was high class luxury and a good price.the people where friendly and the serice was excellent.the room was very neat and clean. Idont have any dislikes about the hotel at all.
