Comfort Inn Ames, Ames

we have been here three times--always a good stay---quiet, clean, friendly helpful staff, big rooms, big tv, good breakfast, nice pool, spa and workout area, good location, reasonable price. I wonder if the negative reviews seen here were written by the competition. they don't match anything we've seen. we would stay again for sure.

This hotel is very dirty, and the staff is less than accomodating. The hotel has a very weird smell, and our sheets were dirty when we got there. Avoid!

This hotel was very dirty. The desk managers were from a different country and didn't even understand English! DO NOT STAY HERE! The rooms were old and it showed a lot. The sinks were nasty too.

I needed to find a hotel on only a few days notice during the weekend of the Iowa Games, so I was happy to make a reservation here. However, the rooms were dingy and the service was awful. A friend needed to call me after 11 p.m., and he never got through to my room because there was no desk clerk to answer the phone. Also, I left my phone cord for my laptop there. I have called them three times to request they send it back to my home. Twice, they agreed to do it, but it never arrived. It was only today after I reluctantly agreed for them to charge my credit card that they said to do it and told me to call them at the end of the week if it hadn't arrived. "Why didn't you just buy a new one?" the manager asked me. Here, I guess service has two letters - no.
