Almost good
By Passing through, 9/25/11
We asked at reception if they had a room available and asked the price. The receptionist told me that the prices had been increased because of a car show! hmmm This Motel is ALMOST GOOD. Everything was shabby around the edges, the coverlet on the bed was stained, the carpet had burn marks as did the chair (obviously old because of the no smoking policy in place now?) The bathroom was not the cleanest and the towels were very thin.....lots of fancy folding of towels but not at all good quality. The bottom of the door in the bathroom was rotting and the door trim on the door leading to the Atrium was coming away. The room seemed damp and musty. The breakfast was passable, plenty of choices and there was hot food, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits (not good) and gravy plus all the usual waffles, bagels, muffins, cereals etc. As I said almost good! I doubt we will be staying there again.

not too bad
By ErleB, 8/30/09
The room isn't too bad--needs a makeover for sure. The reason I'm leaving a review is because of the breakfast that they serve, We couldn't believe that they let people come in there without shoes and shirts on. All eating places that I know of have signs posted " no shirts, no shoes, no service. There was a bunch of people in there that morning all without shoes and a bunch without shirts. if they didn't have the sense to realize that was wrong the hotel personel should have stepped in.

A good experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/07
I read the reviews and was hesitant to try this place, but am glad I did. We were in town for a wedding and needed a place for an overnight stay. Problem: Somehow our reservation had gotten canceled - and I did not cancel! Solution: They were very apologetic and were able to accomodate us in a similar room. And, we were given a discount because of the inconvenience. Our room was very clean, with new carpeting, and we enjoyed the microwave and refrigerator in our room. We had requested a non-smoking room and were pleasantly surprised that there was no odor whatsoever in the room we were given. We also enjoyed the indoor pool (a little on the cold side)and the hot tub (very nice) in the beautifully decorated atrium area. The free continental breakfast was very nice. Overall, we had a good experience and will return if we are ever in the area again!

Hope they get better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/07
The hot tub didn't get hot, the front desk staff acted like it was an in convieience to ask for extra towels or pillows, and then we were told to hang up our towels that they didnt' do laundry every day and they didn't have enough for the next day. Some areas look really nice- like the lobby but other obviously missed the rennovations totaly!!

we can't wait to go back!!!!
By Jody, 12/21/05
We have always stayed at the regency when we are in town..I have to say it is now very beautiful..The lobby is just breath taking with the new front desk & new wallpaper..the front desk clerk was very warm & friendly. They have painted the pool & the water is nice & clear unlike in the past..the rooms are all redone right down to the toilet paper holder..they now have new iceboxes, microwaves & coffee pots in all rooms...I was told they will have high speed internet soon. This is just what this town needs...thank you

Hope they don't become a Best Western
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/05
We stayed at this motel during the Arkalalah weekend and for a class reunion. It was horrible!! When I made the reservation in early summer they were in the process of renovating the motel and they quoted me a reasonable rate of $52.00 mainly because that's what we've been paying there forever. That was even when they had the restuarant and lounge. When we arrived we found our room had been redone up to a point. New furniture, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Lousy bathroom facilities and a phone that blinked all day and night. When I checked out the rate was $79.95 which amounted to $90.00 total for one night's stay. We travel often and have stayed in Drury Suites for cheaper than this was. The lobby was filthy and hot ( the outside temperature was very warm for October), the continental breakfast was terrible, food was stale and not covered so there were flies all over it. The renovations seem to have come to a standstill - nothing was being done. I keep up with the hometown news and they could have built a new moted in the time they've been "renovating". I hope this never comes a Best Western because we have stayed in Best Westerns that are very nice and comfortable. Surely Arkansas City can do better than this.
