Mountain House Inn Downtown, Gatlinburg

This hotel is close to town people are caring we stayed there a few days ago had to leave in the middle of our trip for a family sickness room was paid for they let me change dates gave me money back can you ammagion that? they care the room has always been clean close to town you cant ask for anything else it is an older hotel but clean and friendly you wont be sorry you stayed Hope to stay at Christmas

This place was very clean, friendly at the front desk, not the Ritz but, nice place to stay. It is within walking distance but, if it's 1 block from the Parkway, they are mighty big blocks but I would definitly stay there again.

We stayed in this place for 2 nights. The first night it down poured and our roof leaked! My husband went down to say something and the check in person just gave us a coffee pot to catch the water! He didn't offer to put us in a different room or anything. The pictures are also deceiving! the bathroom was so small. If you have to go to the bathroom, you have to close the door before you can sit on the toilet. There's no room to move in it! The shower is horrible. The tub fills up with water and the shower head is to low. I'm only 5 feet 4 inches tall (barely average height) and I had to bed my knees to get under the shower head. You can imagine how my 6 foot 3 inch husband managed. I was so excited when I booked this hotel...it looked so nice and romantic. The only thing I can compare it to would be Motel 6. I do not recommend this hotel! Extremely disappointing!

It is a very nice Hotel,was very clean, and Very Convinent,only one Block from everything,it was very worth the money.My family and I will be going back to stay.The hotel is on a street that you can get to easily,esp. if you have a map,and miss all the traffic.All in all a great place.And we have stayed at other places in Gatlinburg and have not been as pleased in the past as we were on this trip.

We having been staying at this motel for several yrs. 1-2 times a yr. We have always enjoyed our stay and the price is very reasonable. It's not a 4-star hotel, but it is nice and convienent walking distance to the parkway. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. We have always enjoyed "Ms Louise" and we are sorry to learn that she is no longer there. Try it one time and I think you will be pleasantly surprised @ the "overall for the money" experience.

I CALLED FOR A RESERVATION W/ A KING SIZE BED WHEN I GOT THERE I WAS GIVEN A ROOM WITH 2 BEDS. WHEN I CALLED FRONT DESK WAS TOLD THERE WAS NONE LEFT. SHEETS ON 1 OF BEDS WAS DIRTY AND TV SCREEN JUMPED. WAS GIVEN A PRICE OF $45.00 FROM THE 60.00. PILLOWS OLD AND FLAT SHEETS WERE THIN U COULD SEE MATTRESS.

When we arrived we thought, OK another typical hotel. Two beds and a bathroom. We were right. Unfortunately that's where it ended. When we got to our room is was nasty and unclean. The housekeeper was off doing something other than her job. When they finally cleaned the room they threw the nasty comforters back on the bed. Needless to say those were the first things back on the floor. The mattresses and pillows sucked. My 6 year old said that the bed stunk and wanted to go home. I was afraid the bed frame was going to fall apart every time I sat down. The kids did enjoy the pool but the lack of chlorine smell made me a little weary of how sanitary it was. But you know what, the location was perfect. It is walking distance to almost anything in downtown Gatlinburg. Once we parked we very rarely got back in our car until the day we left. I would not recommend it to families with kids (because I hated the thought of my kids sleeping in the filth) but for a group of adults wanting a cheap get away to the mountains for a weekend, why not. Personally, I will not be visiting this Chateau de Ghetto again. Just remember, when you pay $50ish for a room expect to get what you paid for. It's not the Hilton, it's not even the Super 8, but it a great location. Take it for what it's worth.

Where to start--the staff, the cleanliness, the all around people there, were fantastic. They went above expectations to make you happy with your visit. Their staff were all friendly, the man at the front desk was so nice. We stayed in his favorite room, which was absolutely adorable, it had a private balcony just above the swimming pool. The location was just a small walking distance from Ripley's aquarium, and the mountain mall, and best of all Fannie Farkle's Footlong corndogs. I can't wait to visit again! I am so blessed to have found them. The cost of the room is nowhere near the price of such a good trip. I can't express enough thanks for them allowing me to stay at their inn.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! It was within a block of the main street, so we easily walked everywhere we went in Gatlinburg. At the same time, it was far enough from the hustle and bustle to be quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean and the management was kind, gracious, and welcoming -- they were Christians and had a Bible opened on the table in our room when we arrived. We would definitely stay here again!

Looking for a place where there is friendly staff, low cost, walking distance to restaurants, shops, the aquarium, well look no further. And two swimming pools. This is the place to go. My son and daughter-n-law was the first to stay here. So I had to see for myself. I have met alot of good people in this hotel. Lets see. I've been there oh about 5 times and will definitely go again. To the owners of this hotel. Keep up the good work.
