Won't go back

My first thought was that one could not beat this motel for the price. And to be honest, that is true. For $50 (compared to $115 at another place) I thought I could live without the coffeepot, which was nowhere to be seen. There seemed to be a rationing of towels, as there was only 1 large towel and one small towel for 2 people. There was no shampoo, and very small soaps. There was no ice. But the room seemed clean. And the people in the office seemed nice. The bed was ok, but not really as firm as I would like. The motel is very close to the army base, which was good.
But what was great about this motel besides the price was that every room has a small fridge, stove, and microwave. And a sink for washing dishes. And when checking in, I did notice someone was getting an iron from the office to use in their room. So perhaps if we had asked for a coffeepot, we would have gotten one. Who knows. So I was thinking...I would stay here again, for $50.
But what really turned me off was the pool with large bugs and long hair floating in it. It was a Saturday. And a busy week during the summer. I could not believe the pool had not been skimmed. I wanted one of those nets to skim it myself! I think that was the deal breaker for me. So I will probably pay the $115 next time.
The only other thing that I would mention is not really the fault of the hotel. Someone knocked on our door about 10:30 pm, and of course, I did not answer it. I looked out but could not see anyone. These doors open to the outdoors. Then again at 1 am someone knocked again. Not sure if someone was drunk, needing help, or playing tricks. But it gave me bad vibes. Anyway, it is good if you need a low priced hotel, especially if you want to be able to cook your own food. But don't answer the door if someone knocks late at night...
