Good price, no frills
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/11
I don't know what the other reviewers are thinking. This is an older property, and it shows, but it is well-maintained. When I'm looking for a cheap hotel room, I know what to expect, but this property actually exceeded my expectations. I stayed for a week and never had any problems with cleanliness, service or security. The location is excellent and pretty quiet. I recommend this hotel if you're looking for no-frills room at a great price. If you're looking for every amenity or to impress somebody, stay at the Hilton, and pay three times as much. Oh, and P.S. - racism against Indian people? Really???

Better off in your car!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/10
I have lived in Maryville off & on all my life & I have stayed at this motel before & after the new East Indian owners. Before the current owners it was a much nicer motel, and I have noticed that most motels once East Indian owned tend to go down hill & lean more toward a slum. I chose motels because they are the best for the buck if they offer monthly rentals because you pretty much have everything you need phone, bed, bath, and so on & when your lucky internet. If you want a good motel Days Inn on Alcoa Hwy, or in Townsend I have stayed at both of those & they are much nicer! Townsend is awesome they even have hot tubs in them, and they are very well kept!

A lot to be desired
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/09
My family and I were there in Maryville to visit a friend and stumbled upon this motel that was a pretty good location for a pretty good price. After stepping into the room we realized what a horrible mistake we had made! The moment you walk into the room the smell hits you in the face, you feel like you're stuck in some awful time warp, and you're wondering if you really want to sleep in one of those beds before you. There is barely one and a half electrical outlets you might consider charging your phone with in the room (no outlet at the bathroom sink for the hair dryer). The only decent part was taking a shower; the shower head was pretty nice. The only way I would consider going back is if there was a fresh paint job, cleaned carpets, furniture, updated fixtures and can of air freshener. Only go here if all other options hit a dead end.

Don't stay here
By Britt Blake, 10/13/08
I've stayed in many cheap hotels & don't expect frills when I stay at them, but this place was so filthy I was scared to touch anything. The carpets very obviously hadn't been cleaned in ages and was so dirty it was sticky in high traffic areas. The surfaces appeared clean, but with carpets so dirty, I didn't trust it and wiped them down myself. I put towels over the furniture because the upholstered chairs were dirty. I found an old dirt dobber's nest in the room. Under the sink had rot from previous water problems. They didn't give a key for the dead bolt, so if you leave, it's only the door knob lock that works. The shower was more of a mist than a stream and the shower curtain needed to be replaced. The toilet seat was old with paint peeling off. No clock. Only good points were that AC worked very well and linens appeared clean. If they'd give their rooms a good deep cleaning (upholstered furniture included), this could be a decent inexpensive hotel. Until then, I'll spend another $20 for a better experience.

The experience was horrible.
By AndrewS, 9/16/08
I stayed there for a while, and the place was awful. They don't give you toilet paper or towels when you run out, and they will get mad if you buy toiletries on your own. They claim to have wireless internet, but not only do they charge you a hefty fee, but they shut it off very early at night. The location is nice, next to a trail and park, across from a Krogers, near a Burger King, and it's a fairly decent neighborhood, but they charge you $35 a night for that? Get real. The Family Inn about 5 miles away has much better quality for about the same price. I would not recommend this to anyone planning on staying for over a few days. If it's a night or two, the place is good.

Hi
By Imbobur, 11/27/07
Location above all else! Ten feet behind this hotel is the most amazing walking path. My brother and I spent the night there after getting rained on during a motorcycle trip. We spent hours walking around the city and saw so many interesting things that we can't wait to go back. This motel is clean and is so well located I can't think of a better place to stay. It's not the most fancy in the area. But if you want more out of your motel then a place to sleep.....maybe you should try a place that has more to offer then a nice bed.

Older but very nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/05
I like the Executive Lodge on Hall Road in Alcoa because it is quite and relaxing. A nice place to stay after a long day on the road. Although it is an older motel, built in 1953, it is in very good shape. The grounds are well maintained as are the rooms themselves. For the money it is by far one of the best places to stay. Come on by and try it for yourself. I think you will enjoy it very much.
