The food was amazing at the Wickwood Inn!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/11/11
I cannot think of one other place that comes even close to our weekend at the Wickwood Inn! My husband and I love to travel, and I must confess, I take pride in “discovering” GREAT places for us to stay. After our weekend at the Wickwood, a new standard has been set! Every aspect of our time there has me eager for our return trip to Saugatuck. We loved how luxurious and tasteful everything is at the Wickwood. This place really allows you to pause and enjoy...and indulge! Truthfully, it’s the food at the Wickwood that I still wake up thinking about. From the first bite of a cookie I had when we were welcomed, to the sticky buns as part of the champagne brunch, then the cheddar olives, tomato jam and shimp & crab costini in the evening...my mouth is watering as I write this. There is nothing ordinary about the variety, quality, and volume of food that you will enjoy while at Wickwood.

Perfect Escape
By Diane, 6/10/09
Greeted by friendly staff upon entering the Wickwood. Guests were already in the living room and welcomed us to join in coffee, cookies and chat. Our room was beautiful, located upstairs...clean and very nicely decorated. Comfortable bed and good quality sheets. Plenty of softly scented plush towels. Last but certainly the best was the food....wow! You know you're eating food prepared to the standard of Julee Rosso/Silver Palate. Following our second night, my husband was awake and dressed quickly as the tantalizing aromas of breakfast floated throughout the Inn....the previous morning's breakfast was incredible and he knew the second would be just as great! From the breakfast sticky buns to the evening's hors d'oeurves....this was worth every penny. I would and am recommending the Wickwood Inn to all I know!!!!

cancellation nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/21/09
i had to cancel thirteen days before our visit for medical reasons, they charged me almost $250 dollars on my charge card and i cant get it back. i will never book with them again, beware unless you have limited income to throw away, they never even told me that was the policy even though they supposedly said i was told.

Poor Value!!! Beautiful, but that's about it.
By KarenP, 1/2/09
Loved the decor. It would have been a great stay for $150 per night, but for $350 a night it was a joke. Discount everything you read on their website....we didn't see any "snacks in the room", "fresh flowers", "taste surprises", or "spa products galore", and the appetizers in the evening were both sparse and non-remarkable. Don't waste a dime staying there! The place we stayed the night before cost half the price and was fantastic.

BEWARE!!
By Susi, 6/2/08
BEWARE!!! This whole thing was a TERRIBLE experience. I made reservations for one night and was not told about any kind of cancellation policy. Within one day the entire $425.50 room fee was immediately charged to my credit card. Two days later I found another place I liked better and called to cancel my reservation. They informed me they had a $30 cancellation fee even though I was cancelling 90 days in advance. I told them I was not told there was a cancellation fee when I made the reservations and they argued with me and told me that I was, even though I wasn't speaking to the same person I had originally made the reservations with. Not only was I not told of the cancellation policy, but I wasn't even told how much the room was going to be when I booked it. Anyway, I cancelled the reservation and one month later they had still not credited the $400 to my credit card, even after repeated phone calls and emails in which they promised the amount would be refunded. This is poor and dishonest customer service. Eventually I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to have the charges removed. Not only should there have NOT been a cancellation fee for someone cancelling three months in advance, but I have NEVER had someone charge my credit card for the full amount of the room before I checked in. Then to not refund it...Well, I think this bed and breakfast speaks for itself. Also, I just noticed it says on here the rooms are $245. My cost was going to be $425.50 for one Wednesday night.

Winter relaxation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/08
Wickwood Inn is the most incredible place to stay and relax. We were amazed at the relaxing pace of our days there. A huge breakfast buffet greeted us each morning with so many choices!! I was so full I skipped lunch!! Then there were afternoon treats and a truly remarkable time for appetizers in the evening and visiting with other guests, if you wish to do so. But that's just the food--after a morning spent shopping, my husband and I spent the afternoon lounging by the fireplace in our room and caught up on reading materials we had long since put aside and had not found time for. It was a real treat, with the thick blanket of snow on the ground outside and the warmth of the fire inside. It was as if time stood still for awhile and let us catch up. The innkeepers were nothing short of fabulous. We could not have felt more welcome. I'd recommend this to anyone!!

Fabulous Room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/2/07
Visit for the holidays--we had a completely decorated room--and the inn decorations are fabulous. Best room I've ever stayed in! Snacks, hors d'ouvres and breakfast were out of this world. And it's within walking distance to the business district.

Wickwood Inn is One of the Most Outstanding in the World
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/5/05
We had one of the best experiences ever at a small hotel/inn in all of our travel throughout the US and Europe at The Wickwood. The decor everywhere in the Inn is superb with art and antiques in exquisite taste. The Breakfast and evening Hor's d'ouvres are better than most restaurants we've been in around the world.I will recommend this to all of my friends and be back time and again.
