Sahara Motel on the Boardwalk, Ocean City

We are here again as I write this. This is one of the two places-the other being the Empress right next door-that we prefer to stay when in OC. We were here in June with three daughters, eight of the eleven grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. The office staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff are very friendly and will get you what you need if you just ask. Our rooms have always been clean and well stocked. We are in the tower building this time and the room is very nice and very clean-bathroom is small but only has the commode and tub in it so no problem-the sink with large counter space is right outside the bathroom. Two double beds, small refrigerator that is cold, and a microwave, tv with enough channels to keep us happy if needed-usually not needed anyway as we are enjoying beach and boardwalk and other things in OC. As a matter of fact, the room we have has a nice view of the beach and ocean directly across the road! When we can't stay here, we try and stay at the Empress-also a great place for the money and very clean with nice people and family oriented. Have stayed at the Spinnaker on other side as well and had same experience. Would definitely recommend Sahara and one of the other two if no rooms available here.

the front desk people were friendly. they let us check in early. The room was BIG and CLEAN. The maids were friendly and helpful. there are two pools. close to boardwalk and beach. The only thing i didnt like was that we didnt get a balcony like it stay so we had to stand in the space we had. i would recommed it to anyone and everyone.

I am planning to go to ocean city for my birthday in a week called this hotel for the price was totally different from what they advertise ..... still looking for a hotel that wont hurt my pockets

The Sahara is the perfect family motel. We always stay OceanFront, as one of my favorite parts of vacation is sitting out on the balcony at night with my husband after the kids are asleep. There is nothing like the serenity of the crashing waves on the beach. The rooms are very clean. The little refrigerator is perfect for your cold beverages. Grab your beach stuff, walk over the boardwalk and your on the beach! The motel is several blocks for the shops which is great if you prefer a little solitude. The housekeepers are super nice and friendly and do a great job too! Can't wait to go back in August!

i like the shara hod full bath every other place we stay at only had shower no bath it hard to bath a baby from shower will be going back this summer

The only good thing about the sahara was the location.We had a oceanfront room with a beautiful view and we were right on the boardwalk. Everything else was terrible.I was very disappointed.The bathroom was so tiny we literally had to come out of the bathroom to get dressed after a shower.Our tub didn't get cleaned at all during our stay.Every day after the maid left it was still full of sand from when we showered. We had a tiny refrigerated in our room that didn't keep things very cold.I would have adjusted it but,the knob was missing. Also don't plan on swimming.there are 2 pools (Both were nowhere near our room)That were so tiny,my pol at home is bigger. Bottom line is:Ocean city was wonderful! when I go back I saw 2 nice hotels close to the sahara with big,beautiful pools and places to it.It will be worth the extra cash to stay at the holiday inn or the grand hotel.

It's a great place to stay for your hard earned dollars. We stay there every year. We have been going for about 5 years. Everytime it's been clean, quiet, and relaxing. We made friends with the staff and they are good caring people. Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Looking forward to going back in August.

Never been to ocean city? The Sahara is a no-brainer for people who want a clean, comfortable room situated at a convenient location in OC. You will not find a better value for the money. What you save on the room can be spent on shopping,food etc. Great for families.

The sahara is the nicest cleanist hotel I have stayed in while on vacation in OC. The rooms are clean and the private balcony on Oceanfront is the best. Parking is also extrememly close. In fact we got there earlier than expected last year before our room was ready and they were nice enough to let us hang out in the pools before we were checked in!!You truley feel alone here, and not disturned by any noises or other vacationers. It was ACTUALLY the best rate hotel we found this 2005 season. The rates of other hotels that we have stayed in before were much higher this year, and definetly not as nice. They have 2 pools that are always clean and very comfortable. Housekeeping is prompt and they do a fabulous job. Will be staying there this 2005 summer again!

My husband and kids stay here every year and so far, I have never had a problem. It has always been clean and the service has been great. It is on the boardwalk and close to some really great restaurants. We leave tomorrow.
