A Wedding that is still talked about
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/18/10
I had my wedding here in the summer of '08 and it couldn't have been better. The planner was approachable, knowledgable, and very easy to work with, and the facilities were top notch. As this was a destination wedding, I was worried about being able to smoothly host 120 people for a weekend, but there wasn't a single problem! For the reception we had a beatiful cocktail hour on the deck, and the hors d'eourves were fresh and crisp. Dinner inside went smoothly, and again everything was well-cooked. We returned to the deck for the rest of the evening, and didn't have a single problem with insects. Photos were fantastic thanks to the beautiful views and location, and all of our vendors worked with their staff very well. I just can't say enough about how well the whole weekend went, and the impression that was made on my guests. As more of my friends get married they come to me asking about Harbourtowne and I am happy to pass the word along.

Loved my stay
By David, 1/14/09
I loved every aspect of my visit to Harbourtowne, the service was fantastic, my room was very comfortable and well maintained. I had a wood burning stove in my room and a patio that opened up to the Chesapeake Bay. I will return when the weather is warmer to enjoy the property more. Food and service were outstanding in all aspects.

Many Problems, but Beautiful Location
By Libby, 8/26/08
The room size, and patio, was fine. However, the beds, which seemed fairly comfortable, were terrible. I do not have, and have never had, back problems. However, after just one night my lower back was so bad that the next night I spent a few hours lying on the floor. New matresses needed! The front desk was amazingly unhelpful in trying to get us a third chair to sit in on the patio. (Perhaps a new 'Customer Relations' course is needed here). There was no personal service at all. They pride themselves on the buffet breakfast: well, the coffee was almost undrinkable it was so weak and cold. The tea water was so lukewarm my tea bag did not even "dissolve". Soap bar in the room was of cheap, motel quality. For $240/night we expect better amenities. Pool didn't open until 11AM during the week: but this was not posted anywhere, even in the book in the room. Don't think we will be returning!

Great family vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/07
My family and I just recently returned from a family vacation at Harbourtowne in St. Michael's, MD. We will definitely return. The view and setting was wonderful and very peaceful - grand view of the bay from every room. We visited in mid August, so maybe the summer is starting to wind down - very few tourists. Harbourtowne has a very nice golf course within a lovely private community. The kids had plenty to do between golf, swimming and biking. The service was wonderful; everyone was very pleasant. The rooms could use a little updating; but overall, were clean and comfortable. We were on first floor, so we had a patio where we could walk out and sit and enjoy the view. Family has already voted, and we will definitely visit Harbourtowne again.

Service should be better at $239/night
By dacavalx, 7/13/06
It is a beautiful setting for a long weekend. However, the hospitality at the front desk is not very helpful and the room rate is too high. The Perry Inn would be a better value. We wish they could be more friendly and try to accommodate travelers for an early check in (before 3:00 PM). The best you can hope for is a sunny weekend, clean room, and a quiet time.

Do not host conference here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/7/05
My organization had entered into agreement concerning rooms, rates and availability. Two weeks before the conference we were asked to "double up" our conference attendees because they overbooked. They also failed to follow simple instructions such as times to start lunch. As many people know, (and as a conference hosting hotel should know) staying on schedule is very important. There was an overall lack of competence between the hotel "conference planners" and the rest of the hotel.

Absoluely Marvelous
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/05
The rooms were very nice. Clean, sopacious, and extraordinary waterfront view. The service was remarkable at the front desk, as well as in the restaurant, and food was above average.

Grand Experience
By Cheryl, 7/8/05
We had our wedding here and it was magical. All of our needs were met and the guest were taken away with the whole location. They are still talking about the location. The food and the atmosphere were the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. We are coming back for the anniversary. The Murrays

Underwhelming.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/24/05
Service was pretty bad. Front desk staff very unhelpful. Location is nice, but would want to be closer to town. "Fitness center" is 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, and an all-in-one weight machine. Patio with view of Bay had only one plastic chair. Very disappointing.
