Holiday Inn Columbia, Jessup

No one in any of the other review seemed to mention that there is a prison across the street. If you keep driving down the road, it seems to be all MD correctional facilities. (check out MD Dept of corrections website, they have 6 facilities listed in this area) The area surrounding the hotel appears to be crime ridden and not very safe at all. They are in the middle of remodeling, but appear to be doing it on the cheap. The hotel has the appearance that is has been seriously neglected for years. The priority club rewards perk was a bottle of warm water. Stay elsewhere!

Dark, dirty, cigarette smell in the hallways and in the bed. Pillows had bad cigarette smell. Breakfast good, that's the only positive. Do not go there unless there is nothing with 30 miles driving distance.

Hotel is very clean and staff is very friendly, convenient location. Would definately stay again or recommend it to a friend. Resturant in hotel was fantastic!!

Highest single night rate I have had anywhere in the USA (Holiday Inn) for years. I travel 35 weeks out of the year and do use Holiday Inn hotels the least of my hotel stays. This hotel is just one of the reasons I don't use Holiday Inns more often. Staff is arguementative about everything. No "perks" for Priority Club Members. Cheap "so and so's" act like they are not making near enough $$'s, and won't give a thing. Housekeeping moved my belonging that were on the unused bed. Someone opened the cooler I had in the room, and did not replace the lid correctly.

The staff are very rude. Do not use this hotel. They challenged a price offered on Yahoo Travel. Basically, called me an idiot. I was booking for an event. Also, rte. 1 in Jessup is crime ridden. Being from Columbia, Maryland must locals know to avoid it like the plague. Choose the Sherton, Hilton etc. in Downtown Columbia.
