Don't bother...find a Holiday Inn instead
By ,
I stayed at the Forest Motel one night in July only because it was close to an event I was attending. The room given to me was a 'non-smoking' room; it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and mildew. Mold and rust stains in the bathroom. There was a cigarette burn in the bedspread. The person at the reception desk looked like she was stoned or sleep-walking. The swimming pool was not filled and usable-- in July! The only saving grace is the location next to two fairly decent diners, a soft-serve ice cream stand, and a shopping center across the road. About the only 'fans' of the Forest Motel would be truckers and the homeless. This used to be a decent place back in the olden days when the Enchanted Forest was operating but the motel has fallen into disrepair. A good renovation/rehab would probably make it a profitable venture again.

Any port in a storm...

This is NOT "The Ritz." If you want to save money, stay here; otherwise drive to Frederick or Baltimore. It's old, it's run down, and nothing short of a wrecking ball is going to improve it! None of the rooms have independent climate control, so if the heat is on in one room, it will be on in ALL rooms. Too hot for you? TOO BAD, the front desk said. "We're an old motel!"

Absolutely Disgusting
By ,
This place is the biggest dump I've ever seen. The ceiling was covered with water stains. The walls were patched and unpainted. There was a square of plywood nailed to the rug (???). The sink and tub were rusty and surrounded with discolored caulking. My "nonsmoking" room smelled like mildew and cigarette smoke. I wouldn't touch those blankets or bedspreads if my life depended on it. The staff all looked and acted like they crawled out from under a rock. If this place is your only option, sleep in your car.

Just an abomination. Terrible to now alleded service Rowdy bikers and "vacationin" sloppy people all around Off of a major Hiway so forget sleep. Very rude management, and no hygeine in thei vocabulaty Electricity on and off, constuction trucks seem to park there, Had to bolt the door-wound up catching bacterial pneumonia in the summer "clean ing" is unknown to the place' Send an enemy there as a payback -if you sent someone there and they still speak to you they are just being polite. Rusty batroom fixtures, foul smelling as well. Rude to any and everyone calling in to reach a room. Small bugs bred in my cosmetc bag!Was afraid to unpack my clean clothing

OLD , SMELLY
By ,
your motel was convenient to where i was visiting. It looks good on the internet, but when you enter the rooms,we had 3, they all smell like mildew. one room had an old leak in the ceilind that was patched with tape. A wooden patch on the floor over carpet. The bathrooms were mildew around the edges. The tiles on the shelf for the suitcase were comeing off. It looked dirty, smelled dirty. We went to use the hair dryer, and the electric went out. When the desk was called, they said the motel was old and they would have the electric turned back on. It took over one half hour, which delayed our breakfast arrabgements. i would not recomend your facility. It should be updated, if only one room at a time. being old is no excuse for bad service. when it was time to leave, the office was locked so we could not make a complaint or leave the keys. We gave the keys to one of the cleaning women. My parents have breathing problems, and had to be taken to the emergency room for a treatment after leaving.

A Classic
By ,
I stayed here several times when I used to travel alot to Ellicott City. It is a classic motel, with vintage interiors that give you the feeling of the American motel before the chains took over. Not only does it have charm, but it is comfy too. I highly recommend it, not only for the nostalgia and for people who are into vintage motels, but because it is a nice quiet break from the bigger chains in and around Baltimore.
