Possibly the worst hotel ever

We arrived at the Knights Inn around 9 PM after driving all day, about 10 hours. It was about 30 degrees outside. The room was not heated before we got into it, although we had reservations. We immediately turned the main room heater on. There was also an old, rather unsafe looking timed heater in bathroom that was dangerously located under the towel rack with towels hanging over it. We were so desperate for warmth we moved the towels & cranked it up anyway. It did get nicely warm after about a half an hour. The room was dirty. Cobwebs on lights. Dust on headboard. It looked as though they had not vacuumed around the night stand, in years. There was hair in the corners in the bathroom. Bug parts found on the sink. The shower was dripping onto the edge of the bathtub & consequently onto the floor slightly. This would have been remedied if someone had just adjusted the water to come out the faucet in the shower rather than the shower head. We did this easily & the leak stopped. There was quite a lot of ice covered snow in the parking lot right in front of our room, with no path cleared to walk on. This was very unsafe also. To top it off, a very loud, very close fire siren went off for minutes at 3:30 in the AM. We were planning on a two night stay. We found other accomadations for our second night. I must be honest. We always stay at the cheapest place we can find & my wife never complains. We didn't expect a well decorated, new room. We did expect clean, safe & to get an uninterupted nights sleep. My wife was so fed up I had to promise to find another hotel for her for the next night.
