Vanderbilt Beach Resort, Naples

We found the VBR to not be quite what the website description and images led us to believe. We were put in the darkest under the stairs efficiency! It was horrible, dated, dark and depressing! The sea and beach might as well have been miles away, all we could hear was traffic and all we could see out of the windows was dark and overhanging trees! Definitely not going back there again!

Just spent a week at VBR. Our family loved the beach, two bedroom condo, and the atmosphere. If you are looking for something other than shoulder to shoulder people and long lines, consider VBR. The people could not have been more friendly. The condo was well furnished and spacious. Close to shopping and restaurants. The beach is clean, the water warm and the sunsets amazing! We'll be back next year!

We go there for a weekend getaway at least once a year, and are never disppointed. Romana and James at the front desk are as welcoming and informative as could be. Beach is right there, steps from your room, as is the pool. Turtle Club restaurant is excellent for lunch and dinner; breakfast only ordinary. They run a great deal in the off-season which includes a dinner ($25 per person) and a lunch ($11 per person) and a choice of one of several activities. Beach chairs and towels included also. Plenty of great restaurants around the general area.

We spent a weekend at the VBR. It was our first time and I booked it blind. The two bedroom apartment was well furnished and modern. Everything worked, flat screen TV, DVD etc in the living area. We ate at the Turtle Club which was great and the beach was really nice. The icing on the cake was that the room was good value. Highly recommend it and we will go back!

The beach is beautiful, the Turtle restaurant was excellent, service and food, however the condo we booked was dated and required some updating, including one bedroom which required a pin to open when we found we were unable to get in. We then woke up the next day to drilling and hammering as an ajoining room was being renovated. We were compensated for the noise and moved to another room which was better, for which we are grateful, but in the confusion of moving rooms the hotel lost food stuffs, toiletries and misplaced some clothes (clothes did appear on investigation). When trying to explain concern over the confusion and loss of items to the duty manager on checking out, management were not concerned about the confusion and loss of items. An apology over this on leaving would have been appreciated.

Just got back the other day after 2 nights here. We were here with friends. Loved our stay. Staff & food at restaurant just great. The beach and sunset is magnificent. You certainly get the most bang for your buck here. We highly reccomend this place.

The condos are great and very spacious, It is a great place to spend time with your family, or friends it is kept very clean. and the beach is beautiful.

My husband and I spent 2 weeks during our anniversay in apt 31 for years. We were fishing on the beach when 9/11 occurred. We were married 9/11/1959,so that was also our anniversary. Vanderbilt Beach had clear blue skies and beautiful clear water that day. When anyone asks "do you remember what you were doing when the disaster occurred" I remember the beach. My husband passed away in 2004 but loving memories of Vanderbilt will always be with me and I will return one day.

What a shame the Vanderbilt Inn will be torn down in April for more condos to be built! This place is wonderful. Just celebrated my birthday and anniversay here and enjoyed every minute of my stay. The staff is kind, clean rooms and maid service is great! Beach is right out your door and beautiful! Great value for all that you get to enjoy! The Chickee bar is great and the sunsets are magnificent! Trying to plan a return trip with my daughter in 6 weeks! Wish I had found this great place long ago!

I have spent 3 of my last 5 vacations at the Vanderbilt Beach Resort. You simply can not beat the value! I'm hoping they won't have to raise the rates due to "downsizing" the property. The beach is fabulous, they have a brand new pool, and the Turtle Club is on site!! As it stands now, I'll certainly continue to visit Naples once or twice a year - making the Vanderbilt Beach Resort my beach hotel of choice!!!
