diamond in the ruff
By JimmyS, 3/18/09
this is a quiet and relaxing visit. rooms are great and on the beach. no walking through lobbys, going up elevators and definatly no crowds. staff stays out of way unless needed, and is prompt. the beach is beautiful and the water is crystal clear, great for snorkling. parking is limited, but that keeps the public out. we spend our anniversary here every year, and will keep comeing back. don't forget to check out banana cabana resturaunt.

A great place to relax
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/09
Have just booked for 2009, this will be our 3rd visit . We love the area, we found the accommodation, a one bedroom to be great for 2 of us. However, beware of unit 110, a studio which is directly behind the restaurant, and has no natural light. In 2008 we had a great room, the pool was spotless, the sunsets on the beach brilliant. The area great for fishing and eating. The staff very helpful. ll in all if you like a quite peaceful resort, then this is for you.

A modest, mature beachfront haven.
By Lori, 5/2/08
Loved the small-town feel... Nothing on the island is built up larger than 3 stories. Rooms: Clean, modest, ok... Full Bed with pull out sofa bed. New couch/bed, dvd, pool chairs, paint, etc.. Staff: nice, kept out of our way. Beach Bistro: Elite, Expensive, diners took up parking spots so we had to wait a while for one to open. Rental Car: A must Pool: Old, clean. The pool attendant was using a NOISY power washer at 8 am to wash off all the lounge chairs. No inflatables. Beach: Wonderful, close location. Need to rent chairs & umbrella, cooler, etc... before you arrive or when you get there. AA Baby Rental may be able to help. Vacationers: In April, most everyone was of retirement age. Quiet evenings. Beautiful sunsets... To find kids for our two to play with we had to head to the beach every day. A nice, quiet family vacation.

Moments remembered
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/08
The location is perfect. I have lived on the west coast all of my life and have vacationed on the island every year. I can say that it is better than any place we have ever exchanged for.The unit we stay in is small however we have entertained our family of 12 for dinner using the patio and the direct beach access. As for other comments on the smells of the restaurant, the aromas are exquisite. It is a five star dinning experience that can't be beat. Many locals make reservations for very special occasions here. The sunsets are fabulous, right just out your patio door and he warm gulf waters are very inviting. We can hear the rolling surf from the bedroom that make it an extremely romantic place to visit.

Can't Wait to Go Back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/07
I am somewhat reticent to extoll the virtues of Resort Sixty-Six...wonderful! absolutely wonderful. We have a two bedroom, upstairs, on the beach, on top of the restaurant. There were only delicious "smells" coming from that restaurant. This restaurant is a gourmet restaurant...we went down several nights...just had appetizers and wine. The owner and waiters were extremely accomodating. I want Resort Sixty-Six to myself...don't want to go anywhere else. I'm checking in this Saturday...! yipppeeee!

NEEDS CLEANING
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/07
Great rooms,we had a full bedroom, kitchen/dining combo, living room and roomy bath. Our room was dirty when we arrived, needed to be recleaned. The pool had greasy sides and sandy bottom. I hope they see this and clean it up, otherwise, a nice place to spend a week.

we might be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/05
the lack for beach front rooms. the ones they have are near the resturant and I think they would have the old grease smell that you can smell outside when you walk by.
