Terrible Experience at Sands Motel. I was not given room for the rate promised, infact, I was charged higher, even after showing confirmation email. the person on front desk was extremely rude and refused to honor the lower price. The rooms were in "run-down" condition, bathroom door was broken, dead-lock of main door was broken. The motel provides breakfast but it is pathetic and not worth eating. never recommend staying at this place

First of all, room stink, second, no WI FI, third, at what time were they planning to server breakfast???. Room was over priced...not worth it, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It was really gross! Rooms not clean, front desk was smelling like pee, the staff were not friendly and didn't talk english, they were mad because we ask them questions in english, the room was disgusting, we found empty bottles of wine in the cobbers and the carpet and chairs were so dirty, stains everywhere, the room stink the cigarette and the washroom..no comment! Avoiding this hotel is your best bet!

We booked this no-tell motel on Hotwire as a 2 star. This dump was far from a Holiday Inn like Hotwire advertises and should not rated as a 1 star. We booked 2 queen's and got 1 King for 3 people. The price of an additional cot started at $10 then eventually got to $30. The room was dirty, bathrooms disgusting with paint bubbling and peeling off the wall. 1 small hand towel was provided to dry yourself for 3 people. The manager will not let you see the room until you have signed the check in card and provided a credit card. After 2 hours of arguing with Hotwire, we were refunded our money and went next door to the Travel Lodge, where the rooms were large, modern very clean with flat screen TV and a complimentary breakfast for a cheaper price than we paid for the Sands motel. PS...don't eat the breakfast at the Sands. the mini powder donuts sit out all day long with flies and other bugs crawling all over them...bon appetit!

made me pay with my visa,I wanted to pay cash, didn't clean our room ( we were there for 2 nights) no extra towels, 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 people. the management are children 13 -16 yrs old, the owner makes the kids deal with problems, language barrier. any good reviews you have read are from the old owners.

Courteous reception staff, clean bedding and towels. Room small but adequate. Beds comfortable. Had reserved queen size, but where double size; so if you require queen would recommend that you confirm bed size when reserving room. Bathroom small but functioned well. Breakfast was coffee and pastries. Good location; close to falls and shopping. Some noise from buildings behind motel during night. Older, well maintained motel. Good value for the money.

The staff had been very nice and kind. He went out of way to help me to find out my misplaced GPS. Finally I found the GPS in my car trunk itself. Nice Breakfast. Nice Location. Just couple of miles from Niagara falls. Quite old hotel, but maintained very well. Very helpful and kind staff.

never stay here. unless you like bed bugs and mosquiotes to sleep with you. awaful service. front desk worker stinks. really bad smell in rooms .

I don't know where this motel get such a good reputation. We visited this motel in the mid-june to have a trip to Niagara falls. But, it really gave me a bad memory. The quality of the bathroom foor is awful, which got broken when we went to get a shower, which almost broke my feet. After that, the motel chaged us a big bill without giving us a call. This behavior fooled us. I will give this motel -100 points.

the sands motel was well run and stafe was extremely kind and helpful the room good size and very clean the linen very clean out saide gazepo and swimming pool very nice and clean
