Cape Cod Gem - fun family local owners
i've been to the cape since i was a child, i continued that tradition with my family. I have stayed at alot of hotels in the cape cod area.
First of all, Orleans is definitely the best town, most restaurants, activities, and accesible beaches.
Secondly, I have no idea how this list of hotels was ranked, i found the Olde Tavern Motel to be the cleanest motel/hotel (they also have beautiful B&B rooms) by leaps and bounds.
Lastly, when you stay with a local family, you have an advantage. After several visits, i have yet to find an imperfection, the owner is clearly in love with his family owned place. I was touched by that. His father, himself, and his toddler-aged son greeted us the first time we met them.
If you like being cared about? stay here.
if you like being asked if you need any help with information with activities? stay here.
Most shocking was the check in process, first name basis, personable from the start, maps, welcome books, and all the coupons you could ask for.
Coupled with the recommendations of a 30 year local family, you can't go wrong. My wife and i just had a chuckle that we had to scroll down to find the olde tavern motel.
google has them as the most popular motel.
orbitz, travelocity...
i think yahoo might not be into travel as much as other engines possibly? who knows, but that is exactly why marie and i wrote this.
TO HELP OTHER COUPLES/FAMILIES...the rates, straight from the owners mouth are 10% lower than most, they book up fast and stay full, so book early on THEIR site. oldetavernmotel.com i think. ... i loved that. best place for the most reasonable money.
On tripadvisor they have been #1 for as long as i have used the internet. for very clear reasons, they care, everything in the rooms is refreshed, huge yeards, 85 degree heated huge pool, kid friendly, couple friendly, delicious muffins and strong coffee in the morning.
Best approach? call him or see their site, its cool. you can tell its just different from the rest. remember the days when people cared about each other?
those days still exist at this place...
