15 reviews for The Conway Valley Inn, Conway
Truly disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/09
The cottage was advertised w/a kitchenette, not so, there was a toaster and coffee pot. Upon opeing the door, our romantic weekend turned into a living nightmare!! The bed was rock hard, the pillow case had a stain, there was a drill bit laying at the foot of the bed, screws & staples all over the floor, ashes in the bathroom sink, multiple burn holes throughout the bedspread (in a non-smoking room) a spider in the bed and beetle bugs on the walls and ceiling, the freezer full of frost, therefore, unusable and no hot water or water pressure in the shower!! This was an overpriced getaway. I wish I had read the other reviews, I would NOT have stayed here!! I DO NOT recommend that you stay here!!

Don't go by Web Site Photos
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/08
The room was dusty, dirty and smelled like someone smoked in it-even though they state all rooms are Non-Smoking. The bathroom faucet was caked with grime, the sheets were worn out and had holes, the head board fell off the wall while we were sleeping. They had it hanging on a strip of wood that was screwed to the wall. When we came back later that day, the bed was not made, they just threw the cover over 1/2 the pillows. This place needs some serious cleaning, I found a empty wine bottle under the bed. The picture of the Inn on the website is blue & white, but it is actually tan & white.

Buyer Beware!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/08
Nasty. Moldy. Unfriendly. This place is everything about why you don't stay in cheap motels. Ew. That the place even puts the word "inn" on the sign is deceptive! Should have known better.

Great stay!

We just stayed here and it was great. The front desk was friendly and informative. The price was right. Very clean and comfortable. We'll be back again!

Better than they all say
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/06
We just stayed here on 8/27/06. We liked it! We were a little sceptical at first seeing some of these reviews but we had a great time. These reviewers are people that don't know what they're talking about. The rooms are modest but clean. There was no bad smell. It's not the Holiday Inn at $178 a night nor did I expect it to be. The pool was nice and big and even went down to 10 feet (most places today only go to 5 feet deep). We liked having the refrigorator and microwave (great for drinks and popcorn). The front desk was pleasant and we never had a problem. We're coming back next year.

very sketchy-would never return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
The price speaks for itself-you get what you pay for. My family and I recently visited this establishment and were very displeased with the lack customer service. The man at the front office was absent and quite rude when available. The office was actually closed at check out time. The room itself had a musty odor. The fact that they had so many vacancy during a prime weekend-should have been a red flag. Live and Learn but please do your research and don't waste your money on this dive.

Billed extra charge
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/28/06
My family stayed 1 night and later found a $42+ charge to my credit card. After calling and being "recorded" the female told me we had 4 children and only told them about 3. I did not include our 11 mo old baby on the form and they told me the room limit is 5. I read another review which said 4 was the limit. I think they make things up as they go.

Avoid this place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/06
I'll start with what we did like. The playground is a nice feature, especially if you have a toddler. Pool isn't too bad, but location could be better. On the downside, this place is a dump. That "nice" playground had the ground covered with cigarette butts and they didn't seem to discourage people from smoking in that area. The rooms have a very musty smell. The bathroom had a pipe leaking under the sink and when I mentioned it to the front desk they brushed it off as not being important. Not what I found to be good customer service. While you may pick this place for the "value", there are a lot of better choices down the road for the same price.

Horrible experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/06
We were on a two-week holiday out East and had booked a room at the Conway Valley Inn for the trip back. Several mishaps delayed our return, leaving us with a 13-hour drive the next day to reach the hotel by the time the office closed. So we phoned the hotel asking to cancel our reservation. The immediately told us the call was being recorded. Either this was a lie, or they are so used to dissatisfied customers that they have found it necessary to record phone calls. Now we were told there was a seven-day cancellation policy and that we should have notified them at least seven days ago. I explained that if the mishaps had occurred seven or more days ago, we wouldn't be in this predicament. They were absolutely unyielding and said the full price of the room would be billed whether we showed up or not. Having been to North Conway repeatedly, we know for a fact that they would have no problem renting the room - especially with over 24 hours notice. So the next day we killed ourselves to make it there only to discover it was a dive. Whoever gave the 5-star reviews must be someone working with them. We should have listened to the honest review and avoided the place.

Not what we expected!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/06
The owners/staff were very unfriendly. The pictures on the internet must have been taken about ten years ago. The rooms and cottages are old and in need of repair. The room smelled old and musty. There were no extra pillows or blankets. Check out time is too early (10:00 am). Cancellation policy is 7 days notice, so if you make a reservation on line and then find out that the amenities are not what you wanted when you arrive you cannot leave without being charged. Payment is due up front (not a problem), however, they still take an imprint of your credit card. They tear it up later if there are no damages found when they clean the room after you leave. Being a victim of identity theft, this is very unsettling. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is close to everything. Not worth it. Stay on the outskirts and travel the extra 15-20 minutes.
