So unclean I still look back in disgust
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/11
We had no accommodation for the night and it was running late so I'm grateful that this place was there and reasonably priced. But oh boy the room was dirty. Putting aside the state of the floors and bed-sheets, there was leftovers of smeared feces in the bathroom. I still shudder to recall. If it were less cold I'd rather sleep outdoors.

Very dirty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/29/11
This was the dirtiest hotel/cabin I have ever stayed in. We even called after reading the reviews and the staff assured us it was clean. The cabin was unbelievably dirty. I think the only cleaning they do is to change the sheets and towels. The floor was stained and the whole cabin smelled terrible. The playground was old, broken, and filled with cigarette butts. I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

Beyond Gross
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/11
This is by far the worse place I have stayed. It was so dirty and I don't think they have a vacuum cleaner. I wish I had payed attention to the reviews and it had been daylight when I arrived. This is such a great location and it could be improved with a major clean-up.

Old but clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/11
I almost cancelled reservations after reading these reviews. Decided not to since there is no way of knowing who writes what. The cabins are old but they were clean. I didn't see any of the horrors mentioned in other reviews. Yes, the floors and walls are uneven, but one would expect that from something built in the 1930's. Was it a luxury resort, absolutely not. It was little and the windows and carpets were old. The floors were new and the sheets and towels were in good condition. The TV's worked as did the appliances. The showers were hot. I went with a group so had the opportunity to see different units. The motel rooms were newer and if I returned there would opt for that instead of a cabin. The pool was okay, heated, but there were alot of weeds in the surrounding garden. The owner was very accomodating and friendly. I would return there for the price and proximity to North Conway shopping center, could actually walk there,

Not for Families/Felt like a cheap motel!
By Angela, 8/24/10
We made reservations for 8 people two cabins together but when we got there we did not get the two cabins together and had to walk some distance to get to each other. The two bedroom cabin states a tv in each room and dvd, vcr. We had one TV and no dvd or vcr. When I asked the management they said its subject to change. Not an acceptable answer. They also stated fire rings at each cabin there were none. Instead the management offered a fire for us up by the office on Saturday night in a firepit which we could have done at home but they tried. That was nice of them to do. The website states that this is a family place. This is just not true. The cabins are outdated and cords for lamps around the bed not safe for young children. Cabins were not very clean Lots of dust, spiderwebs and curtains/lampshades were filthy. One of the pictures fell off the wall to reveal a fist sized hole.Blankets had rips and burnholes in them and shower curtian was stained. Tried to do the dishes and water would not turn on. Heat had been shut off by management and they would not turn it on for us. It was in the low 40's at night and early morning! Rooms were rundown with handles missing from dressers and floor tiles coming up. People were not here on vacation most of the cabins were occupied with permanent residents who we barely saw made us feel uneasy. The playground/sanbox area was nice and the children enjoyed it but it faced the highway with a 3 foot picket fence which was not sturdy. The gas grill by the pool was a nice touch but the top grill was extremely rusty and covered in layers of rust, grease and food. What was listed and pictured on the website was very different from what we saw when we arrived. False advertising that is not right! Good Points We did have clean sheets and towels daily. The refrigerator and microwave were a plus. The pool was nice and immaculate. Management tried to the the best they could to accommodate us. We made the best of it and the attractions and scenery in the area were worth the trip. Next time we plan on staying at the Hampton Inn or the new Adventure Theme Hotel they are building down the street.

Unbelievably filthy..
By ebina2008, 7/23/10
We stayed there for a night in July and I would never ever return back. The place looks nice and romantic from outside but do not get fooled by that. The cottages need some serious maintainance, everything is old and worn out, the floors are uneven (the head of the bed is 4 inches lower than the foot and the left side was way higher than the right side - it was so uneven that my husband joked that we should tie ourself to the bed to make sure we don't fall of it at night!), the fridge does not work ( well it works but so much that there are warnings of bottles exploding in it), there is no hot water, tv remote works only to increase the volume but you have to turn it down manually on the tv, the other tv had a bullet hole in it, burn marks everywhere... It is also extremely filthy. There was broken glass on the floor when we checked in, toothpaste all over the sink and mirror, dirty toilet, hair in the shower, dust everywhere, the pillowcases had stains and the old filthy pillows kept falling out of them because the pillowcases were too small..and there is a CLEANING FEE if you don't wash the dishes after yourself!!! It was way overpriced for what you get! The only positive outcome is that it is such a nightmare that it makes it a funny story to tell to friends..you really gotta laugh or you would just loose it! DO NOT STAY UNLESS THE RATE DROPS TO AT LEAST $19!!!

Definitely not a Holiday Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/10
My daughter and I stayed here during late fall. When we got to our room we had no heat or hot water. When I called the front desk, the man was rude to me and took over 1 hour to come out and turn on our hot water and heat. The place smells and there are burn holes on the rug and bed spread. The bathrooms are filty and I would not stay here again.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/10
I stayed here with my husband, two yr old daughter, another couple and their two toddlers. We rented two cottages- a one bedroom and a two bedroom. Both cottages were filthy- cigarette burn holes on the carpets, dirty old curtains, mildew in the showers. Both cottages smelled of stale cigarette smoke so bad that the stench clung to our clothes. The beds were hard as a rock. There were cig butts all around the playground. I can't even say you get what you pay for in this case because nobody should have to pay to stay at an unsanitary dump like this. We rented for two nights but left after the first night.

Truly disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/09
The cottage was advertised w/a kitchenette, not so, there was a toaster and coffee pot. Upon opeing the door, our romantic weekend turned into a living nightmare!! The bed was rock hard, the pillow case had a stain, there was a drill bit laying at the foot of the bed, screws & staples all over the floor, ashes in the bathroom sink, multiple burn holes throughout the bedspread (in a non-smoking room) a spider in the bed and beetle bugs on the walls and ceiling, the freezer full of frost, therefore, unusable and no hot water or water pressure in the shower!! This was an overpriced getaway. I wish I had read the other reviews, I would NOT have stayed here!! I DO NOT recommend that you stay here!!

Don't go by Web Site Photos
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/08
The room was dusty, dirty and smelled like someone smoked in it-even though they state all rooms are Non-Smoking. The bathroom faucet was caked with grime, the sheets were worn out and had holes, the head board fell off the wall while we were sleeping. They had it hanging on a strip of wood that was screwed to the wall. When we came back later that day, the bed was not made, they just threw the cover over 1/2 the pillows. This place needs some serious cleaning, I found a empty wine bottle under the bed. The picture of the Inn on the website is blue & white, but it is actually tan & white.
