Mt Madison Inn, New Knoxville

Husband and I have been staying here 2 times a year for the past three years. All the different rooms we've stayed in have been clean and well appointed. No, they are not fancy but who cares as long as they are clean? They have all the things I find important for a visit, like a hairdrier, microwave, coffee maker, and a fridge. We only used the pool one time but, it was clean and the temp was perfect. We always find the staff to be cordial, and we've met the owner several times and found him to be a nice guy. His 2 dogs are just so sweet. It's funny how some people are readily willing to publicly bash a place based on a one time, trivial, problem. We've stayed there 6 times and if we have one complaint it's that the Mt. Madison can't control the weather! We will return again and again, and no one else should be swayed by the few crappy reviews! This is a pleasant place to stay when you visit the White Mountains of NH.

Stayed here for a week while having some renovations done to my house. The staff was awesome, the rooms were clean, and the pool was great! (Now I have to have one!) They also let my dog stay, I thought that was very cool. The owner has 2 dogs and understands the need for pet accomodations. I'd stay here again in a heart beat. I'm local to the area so it was my first stay here. If I was traveling, I would hope to find a place just like this!

I booked this place for 3 nights before I found some awful reviews the night before going there. I was very nervous, but everthing was great. You can't complain about a clean room, with a king size bed, wi-fi, tv, and bathroom for $59night! We were there 9/8, 9/9, 9/10 and do not have a single complaint. The owner was a cool guy, gave some suggestions on places to eat. Take the few negative comments with a grain of salt. Imagine all the people who had a good visit there and did not come back to leave a comment.

We had booked online and brought our printed confirmation. They charged us 30$ more per night, saying there had been a mistake when they loaded the rates on their site. I argued with the receptionist, she said that it had happened to a lot of people and that she could not do anything, the price was higher than what i had booked. Even with proof (printout of the reservation), no luck. It was an ok little motel, rooms kind of small and linen somewhat dirty. I would never stay there again, they are just not honest.

My family and I have been going here for the past 4 yrs and have a great time, staff makes you feel like family and are eager to please. Rooms aren't new but serve the purpose and are clean THE POOL however is only a few years old and is always well maintained , how many places can you sit poolside and cook your dinner on the gas grill they also furnish. Go up the road one way and it's Santas Village,Six Gun City and the Notch area. Go down the road and its Storyland, Mt Washington and North Conway for shopping and all the GREAT swimming holes in between Gorham is a great little town thats in the middle of a great vacation area and the Mt Madison has been for the past 4 yrs a great place for my family, grand kids (4&6yrs) love it , very reasonable. This is not the Hilton nor do they claim to be BUT if your family oriented and being with the kids having fun means more than how fancy the rooms are then this place is for you and if the train that goes by around 11 pm wakes you then you had a boring day and didn't have any fun because if you went to Santas Village all day with the kids or went swimming in one of the crystall clear lakes or streams or did a little hiking or an all day excursion to the beautiful mountains you would be tired where you didn't hear that wonderful train at nite. It's a great family place to be in the summer and plan on booking another great vacation in 2009. Oh yeah and what I didn't like is that we couldn't stay longer!!!!!

good place to stay but don't bother with the moose tour....25 bucks down the drain...saw 1 moose....guide spent more time showing us some old factory then moose.not worth the money if you ask me

The room was buggy, especially the bed. The whole first night I didn't sleep. Place was a big disappointment.As another review says, the road is very noisy and we were right near the road. Also the train comes thru at all hours and blows its horn, waking you from sleep. We stayed for 2 nights and paid over $170.00. The sign on the marqee says $48.00 per night. Stay in North Conway. Not very far from Gorham and has Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express and alot more choices than Gorham.

Hi, Few things that i did not like about this motel. 1) They informed about MOOS rides and when we arrived there , they informed us that do not start till beginning of June 08.This is false info compare to what they said in my phone conversation . 2) Then remote control for TV did not work.I went to talk to Cheryl at front desk and she was not helpful and gave another not working remote . 3)Mattresses are not comfortable. 4)Then pool did not have hot water .So i could not swim. But location and price is good . This is my experience . Thanks

Very clean and reasonably priced, close to all parks! we chaecked in and every thing was as promised! kids loved the heated pool. check out the owners dogs, there the cutest dogs youll ever see!
