Great place!
By Wiliam, 12/27/11
We stay at this place every year enroute to other locations in Maine. Some years, we just stay here as a base and do day trips. The facility is clean and modern. Breakfast is inclued and gets you going. The owners are lifetime residents of Maine and we always have been well cared for. We've been here for at least the last 10 years.

Horrible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/11
A group of us stayed at this hotel over Clam Festival weekend and for a wedding. There is only one area of the hotel for a group larger than 4 people to meet, the patio. This hotel does not have a pool or anyother area to congregate. The first night at the hotel we were told that we needed to leave the patio because the hotel owner was having a family party, not a problem. We cleaned up after ourselves and left. The next morning our group met to have breakfast on the patio. While sitting on the patio someone from the hotel taped a sign to the door that said something along the lines of "RESERVED FOR PRIVATE PARTY AT 4:00 p.m." No one came out and verbally spoke to us...a sign was just put up for us to read. Beyond being extremely immature it is entirely unacceptable to reserve the patio of a hotel for an entire weekend when there is literally no where else to hang out. We were not informed when we booked the hotel that the patio was not going to be available for guests of the hotel, and we certainly weren't given a discounted rate. The hotel staff is rude and you could not pay me to stay at this hotel again.

Great Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/10
Just came back home from a weekend trip to Freeport. This is the second time we stayed here and will continue to stay here when we come back . This Inn is immaculate. The rooms are spotless and good size. And very quiet at night. I highly recommend Casco Bay Inn.

Very clean, friendly informative staff and good value for rate. Definitely will stay at the Casco Bay Inn when next in the Freeport area and will recommend this Inn to friends travelling in the area.

Simply OK.
By Kevin, 8/27/07
Well, this place was basically your typical Inn. We didn't deal much with the employees except check-in/out. The room was clean. The fridge was useful. We only stayed here because it was the only placed we called to seem to have a room left (and only 1 room). So we took it. It was very expensive compared to other places we stayed on our trip. The location was convenient. Not too close to the madness that was Freeport, and not too far to moan about driving into town in the morning. The breakfast left a bit to be desired. It was quite picked over without much to choose from even at 9AM. We chose to go to the nearby dunkin donuts instead. Which made this place even less of a bargain.. Overall.. its a clean room, at a higher than fair price. But it will work if there is something you want to see in Freeport and need a place to stay. Tip: If everything is booked, maybe try nearby Brunswick. Its maybe a 20 minute drive vs. this Inn's 5 minute drive.

Unfriendly Inn Keeper
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/07
Casco Bay Inn turned us away on a Saturday night because we were traveling with a small pet. (we had a reservation months in advance) "Can't even have it your car in the parking lot"...All hotels were sold out in the area. The very welcoming folks at Holiday Inn Express down the street had two people phoning around for about 25 minutes until they could find us a room. Some folks are in the hospitality business and others just rent rooms.....

Simply GREAT!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/07
Only problem with this motel is that I couldn't have stayed longer. WOW is an understatement. Very friendly people, helpful with local eateries, directions, super feed in the morning, well kept - the owners take great pride in their place. One word of caution. If you bring lobster claws back to the room, the owner will try to confiscate them. Solution - bring him back a WHOLE lobster - uneaten! You got a friend for life. Bob Miller Anacortes, WA July 2007

Best hotel in the area.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/19/07
Been staying at this hotel for years. Family run. Friendly, Clean, quiet. Away from the craziness of in-town Freeport, but only 2 miles away, and much less expensive. Very nice breakfast area to have a leisurely breakfast and read the paper. Several good restaurants right in the area. The place to stay in the Freeport area.
