Allen Hotel, Townsville

this hotel has open access to the rooms after hours I had my wallet lifted out of my room at 2.30 in the morning by someone who accessed my room which was locked whilst I slept and was not the only one

I have stayed at the Allen Hotel a few times in the past four years the last time we stayed we were accuses with tampering with the smoke alarm. Didn't even touch the smoke alarm. Management aargued with us that we had tamperd with the alarm and wanted an extra $130. I did not pay because I don't smoke and couldn't even reach the smoke alarm. Maybe management should check the wiring before accusing their customers. Totally bad service even with the reception staff who are usually friendly wern't this time. You have lost my business and I hope many more people don't come back to your Hotel which is a shame because before mamagement aand reception staff were great. There standard has dropped at lot since my last visit. Other than than that bar and bistro staff great.

Last year several of our friends stayed at the Allen in the old motel section,they had to go out and buy cleaning gear to bring their rooms up to an exceptable level of cleanliness more than one complained about the beds,that the mattresses were old and saggy..and the carpet stank.. one couple pulled the mattress off their bed to sleep on the floor it was the only way they were comfortable,they are one of many who will not be going there this year they have found better accommodation.many of the Allens past customers are going to find other accom next year..as the prices at the Allen have gone beyond what their accomm is actually worth..Me included...

There wasn't a dull moment staying at the Hotel Allen.I loved every moment staying there.I'll reccomend my friends to go there and stay.The service was excellent and there wasn't anything to dislike about the place.

Not a dull moment while staying besides my first night where I missed home.I found a home for a week.The bistro was great and the bar was great service as well.
