VIP Hotel, Singapore

we feel sad because there is no 24hrs room service and no food at midnight!

1 I arrived at 0330 and had a smooth check in. I went to my 2nd floor room and the key card would not work, I went back down to reception with my luggage whereupon my key card was activated. 2 The kettle in the room would only operate with me holding the on switch down until the kettle boiled. Reception was informed but no replacement kettle was forth coming. 3 Minute ants invaded my laptop and were still evident when I returned home. I had to wipe the keyboard are with surface insect spray in the hope of killing any more that were in the laptop. 4 The toilet paper is of the self shredding kind, upon tearing off a piece the paper tears up the length so one is left with shreds instead of a whole piece, 5 Whilst there is a breakfast it is meagre and served for you, sausages were on the menu but there were none available and the advertised ham was reconstituted meat. 6 The was complimentary bottle water advertised on the hotel web page, the nearest I saw to this was a plastic container of tap water in the fridge door with a glass 7 The food in the restaurant although cooked to order was far too overpriced for what it was. 8 Newton Station is a walk of 15 to 20 minutes putting a walking time of 30 to 40 minutes on a venture to the city or Newton Food Court which is also overpriced. 9 There is a bar fridge with a list of the contents of beverages – in fact there is no beverage available although the term bar does indicate beverages.

I stayed in the VIP hotel as it had okay ratings by other travellers for the price range it offers. The room was average but it did not have internet even though this was advertised. They double charged me for my room and now two months onwards I am still fighting to retrieve my money back. The Manager of the hotel is being nothing but rude regarding my situation, told me he would repay the money but did not do so to where he now is not answering any emails or phone calls. My bank has raised a dispute claim to regain my money but of course this takes time. My time and effort to regain my money has become lengthy and unless one wants to take the chance of this happening to them I would strongly not recommend the risk of staying at this hotel for a couple of dollars less than a reputable establishment nearby and if you do, I suggest you check your credit card afterwards as I am sure I am not the first nor last customer that they test this trick on. I have sent copious emails explaining how this is bad business and my forums will cause indirect loss to the hotel, but this concept does not seem to register... GOOD LUCK!

simple hotel, easy and cheap, good hotel for 1 too 3 nitghs... but not more service after 11pm is not availeble... too bad

spent 6 weeks there in the summer on buisness with my friend, staff were all excellent and friendly, especially aiesha, who was very friendly, had a good time and will be goin back. cheers joe

The staff were all very friendly and the hotel is very clean. Can't beat the location for the price!!

Service is very friendly, breakfast not more than basic but the location in a quiet neihborhood is really great - the next bus stop is only 3 min away as are restaurants and a supermarket. The rooms are not all very clean but that's not due to a lack in housekeeping but because it's a bit older and the hot wet weather is taking it's toll on the building. Our bathroom had some moldy patches on the ceiling but otherwise it was clean.

the only thing i dont like about this place is its location. the nearest mrt station is a 10-minute walk. for the breakfast, you have no choice but bread. but overall experience with the hotel is great! nice room, hot shower, good price. discounted online booking. SG$100.
