Carlton Hotel, Nahariya

Hotel on the face! Bad service, bad attitude Not cleaning the rooms, you do not change linens Hotel dining is the most shameful, when the food ran out, even at the beginning of serving not helpful kind enough to fill the lack. Filed frozen schnitzels for hotel guests, no ads and contempt for hotel guests.

The hotel looks nothing like the internet site - garden room turned out to be a room with an artificial grass deck. Room was gloomily furnished, not vacuumed, poor airconditioning on 2 of the three day stay - glasses and cups neither changed nor washed, couldn't use the personal safe, excellent food, well-run dining room and pool - staff constantly arguing with and in front of guests - Nahariya is a charming village, clean and friendly, lots of good kosher eating places - hotel is well-located, but will never stay there again - paid NIS 2,900 for 3 nights including shabbat - not good value for that amount of money - should be reported to Tourism Board - pity I didn't read these reviews before booking

We recently spent some enjoyable days at the Carlton, Nahariya which has received some negative reviews in the past. The hotel itself has been completely renovated and our room with attached bathroom was comfortable and quite spacious. We were booked half-board and found that both meals were of a good standard. The evening meal (buffet) included soup, a vast selection of salads, four choices of meat/fish and a last course of fruit salad/cakes. There is a nice pool area and also a spa (which we didn't use). The staff were courteous and helpful and we felt that we got excellent value for our money.

Stayed there a few years ago. They forced us to have $50 meals for the first two nights as it was a festival. These were just buffet meals and nothing to write home about. We had understood that we were getting half board for the whole week. They refused to listen to our requests for some compensation
