After the trek up three flights of stairs the stunning lobby with plentiful seating areas, sparkling floors and a nice bar is worth the trip. This hotel offers a luxurious escape from the crowded conditions of the Old City. Its rooms come fully furnished with a private phone, bathroom and air conditioning. Breakfast is included with the room and for an extra charge lunch and dinner are offered. Considering the extra comfort and immaculate condition this hotel is a bargain.

Nice but twice the price

We really liked the hotel. Great location! The buffet breakfast that was included was very well organised and was great. The bathroom was nice and there was a TV in the room(not that we needed it). All in all, it was a cute place with great service. The only surprise was the price had doubled 120$. We changed hotels after 2 nights to save some money.

the hotel was renovated!

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at the Gloria hotel after he had been there twice and really loved it. To our surprise when we arrived the hotel was under reconstruction and we had to make a ridicules escapade going from room to room to find one that would suit us. In the end we decided to stay in one of the renovated rooms and we requested it to be cleaned and got turned down as the hotel was understaffed. Over all it might be that we ran in to some bad luck with lady timing we will give the hotel a second chance based on past experience hoping that this time it would live up to the expectations. To be fair we did get a small discount for our discomfort and after the renovations the hotel would be really beautiful!!

Home Away From Home

Friendly staff at desk,bar and dining room. Great view from the roof. Fun at night in the lobby bar and patio. Felt at home. Great location within the old city inside the walls. Would go back. Location,location,location!!!

Great hotel, smaller, in the old city

Nice smaller hotel with excellent service. Gloria is located within in the old city at Jaffa Gate, making it a great location. A ten minute walk to the Jewish Quarter and Western Wall. Outside the Jaffa gate, you are close to the Ben Yehuda outdoor pedestrian mall, the main post office, Russain Compound, bus stops, banks, etc...

Inside the City Walls

If you are looking for a truly unique place to stay while in Jerusalem then consider the Gloria Hotel. It is very much like a 3star European hotel. Simple plain rooms with rather large, clean bathrooms in each. The food is simple yet filling and offers a large diverse buffet breakfast. What makes this an outstanding value is the location. You are sleeping right inside the Jaffa Gate off one of the side streets. The church bells awaken you each morning which is something we do not hear much of anymore in the States. But to be able to walk out of your hotel door and be right in the middle of everything you want to see or visit is priceless. No trip to Jerusalem is complete without sleeping inside the Old City and no place does it better with simple flare than the Gloria Hotel.
