Sheraton Montazah Hotel, Alexandria

GOOD ROOMS , GOOD FOOD SHERATON IS THE PLACE TO BE IN ALEXANDRIA. THE SERVICE IS PASSABLE BUT THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS JUST MARVELLOUS . THE POOL IS REALLY GOOD AND LAST BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY A VISIT TO THE DISCO IS A MUST.

Sheraton Montazah Hotel is ideal on more than one level. The rooms are very cosy and luxurious, with a breathtaking view of the sea. However, some rooms do look onto a road, which isn't very pretty, but the hotel staff are very helpful in finding you the best room possible. The hotel offers a refreshing swimming pool, as well as a beautiful private beach. Many of the Egyptian singers and actors use this hotel, as it is a joy to spend time there. All the staff are immensely friendly, and I enjoy going there every year. If you are unfamiliar with Alexandria, the hotel offers a taxi service so that you do not have to hail a taxi from outside. I'm absolutely sure taht if you were to ask for help for anything, the staff would be more than willing to help. The hotel also offers a salon, gym, doctor's surgery, laundrette, disco, 2 restaurants and a bar. It's great! Good value for money, and a great experience.

Not the best view(our room looked out onto an alley)but excellent in other ways. Cleaning staff friendly, superb access to private beach with guard crossing for road(very, very handy!!). Nice pool, lovely photo opportunities...would definatly go back.

The view is breathtaking. The lady who received and registered us was very warm and efficient. The staff, generally speaking, was very helpful. The room was in tip-top shape. The breakfast buffet, which came with the hotel rate, was very inclusive, appetizing and very well presented. TVs and their remotes need some adjusting/newer equipment, OK for the length of time one expects to watch TV rather than enjoy the view and surroundings. I definitely will go back in a heartbeat, and will recommend it to relatives and friends.

The rooms were excellent! They were very clean! At the lobby, the reception was very clean and the people were amazingly friendly and very warm and welcoming. The service was awesome. I'd LOVE to go back! I am now in Canada, it's been a year since I've checked out of the Sheraton Hotel, I wish I had never left! The view of the beach was mesmerizing and magical! Can't wait until next month, when my kids will be out of school so we could return to the greatest of all places: Egyptian Sheraton!

This is definitely not what you expect from Sheraton. It is way below the Sheraton standard i'm used to. Small rooms and an very old kind of 70's hotel. Forget it and pay for Four Season's instead. The pool area was useless and the private beach you wouldn't want to use anyway.

We just stayed 2 nights there march 2006. The view of the sea is breath taking. Everyone was so friendly. Very clean rooms. Great service. Will hopefully get to go back again next year. They had a great salon there too that saved my teenage daughter a bad hair day. haha

Don't do it if you have any cares for luxury - this is not the place. Stayed at the Montazah Hotel after reading great reveiws and being sold by a - now I know - 'doctered' photograph of a serene scene overlooking the pool/beach/sea. What the Website didn't offer was information regarding the chaotic lanes of traffic one has to negotiate to get across to the few inches of private beach - not clean - only on offer. The Sheraton in Cairo took over a day to walk around this place took less than 2 minutes - there is nothing here. Nobody seemed to stay more than 1 night groups of tourists from Russia and Japan came and went just after 1 night. The rooms are tiny and I had to upgrade to a junior suite at 300 dollars per night just to accommodate two people and luggage with still some room for the proverbial 'cat'. Alexandria was no different from Cairo - corrupt Tourist Police and locals intrigued by the presence of Westerners especially their potential financial offerings.

We liked this hotel so much we stayed an extra night, just to enjoy the views from our room. TIP: Write ahead of time to the hotel manager and ask for a room ending in 02. The fifth floor is best. Away from the noise and dirt of the rest of the city. Great location, great room, great experience for a trip to Egypt. Winter rates $60 US plus taxes 27%. Wow!
