I stopped into the motel based on the price advertised on the sign $33.99. After I got back to the room, I looked at the receipt and saw that the price charged was significantly higher than what was advertised on the sign. I went back immediately and brought this to the worker's attention. He said that it was a senior citizen rate and rudely said "are you a senior?" I went outside and checked the sign again. It said nothing about senior citizens or any other qualifications for the offer. I brought this to his attention. He basically said that I was not going to be refunded the extra money.
In the morning, I tried to have the same conversation with the owner's wife, thinking she would be more accommodating. She was worse. I haven't met anyone that rude in a while. She basically pointed out that many customers do what I do - come in and get overcharged. She didn't seem to care because it was off the interstate and she doesn't get many return guests.
I took up the situation with the BBB and other govt. agencies. The owner did not respond to any correspondence. Please give your hard earned money to a motel that cares about the customers. Super 8 in Rowland definitely is not one that qualifies.
This is a nasty Super 8. I am reporting this location to the main Super 8 head quarters. The room had bugs in it. My husband and I were bit several times and my little girl found founds in the bath tub with her. When I tired to get in touch with the manger about the conidtion he told me to call him back the next day and then started avoiding my calls.
My family and I stayed at this hotel, This place is geat the staff was very helpful, The breakfast was outstanding and the room was oversizes. Our room had a fridge microwave hairdryer iron ironingboard and all the extras. We payes a total of $52.85 for three adults, one child, and 2 dogs, great price we've never payed under $60 for a room. I had to go outside at night to get my medication from the car and, I meet the most wonderful policeofficer, most of the time cops are rude, but not in this small town where quility comes first. These people really nows how to treat you... I will defently stay here again.
This hotel is one of the best Super 8 Motels there is. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was more than just toast, ceral, donuts, coffee and juice! They had a nice layout! The staff was wounderful and most helpful. I have told all my friends to stay at this place when they head south to FL it is very easy to get on and off I-95!
We stayed at the Rowland, NC. Holiday Inn Express because it was the closest national chain hotel we could find for the U.S. Open golf tournament in nearby Pinehurst. Since we made the reservation in advance, we were charged twice their standard rate per the card. We erroneously believed that we could be assured of some standard of quality and service. We were wrong.
The rooms were dark and dingy, and the air conditioning did not work. We were moved into another room that had a tub that drained very slowly, shower curtains that did not fit, and cracked and broken tile flooring. The TV only got a clear picture on a few channels, and the hair dryer kept tripping the breaker.
Another couple that made the trip with us also had to be moved for a bad A/C, and their phone did not work.
Because of the tight room situation due to the golf tournament, we had no choice but to stay. I was very disappointed that Holiday Inn would allow their name on this establishment.
I may stay in a Holiday Inn Express again, but not until I see it first.
