No Service At The Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/07
I travel quite a bit for work and stayed at the Bernards Inn for two weeks in December 2007. I stayed as a matter of convenience being close to the office but I will never go back. After the first week I thought I wouyd give them another shot just to be fair but the lousy service continued. I am fond of making lists so here is my Top 5 List of what is Out at the Inn:
5. The sheets are over laundered and itchy. I had nightmares about bugs crawling all over me but these were imaginary. No I was not drinking too much because the bar closed when the last Blue Haired Old Lady left the building.
4. Every night in my room was a homemade cookie nicely wrapped and tied with a pretty ribbon. It would have been nice if the ingredients were labeled somewhere perhaps in pretty caligraphy befiting the wrapping. I AM ALLERGIC TO NUTS!
3. I use my wireless laptop every evening to do work. No matter how many times the front desk "reset" their signal it kept cutting out on me. They actually told me to take my computer and walk around the room to get a better signal. Can you picture me all comfy in the tub desperate for one more bar on the signal meter.
2. Heat, heat, and too much heat! The thermostat never got below 75 even with the window wide open for an hour. It was 29 degrees outside at night! I am now a true believer in global warming.
1. Cold shower day 1 and I complained. Cold shower day 2 and I complained. No note from the manager when I returned. No nice little coupon for a free drink or dinner left in my room. Just a cute wink and apology from the overly made up front desk clerk and a gee whiz warning about how they use up a lot of hot water in the morning washing all those itchy sheets.
