Magnuson Hotel Childress, Childress

We stopped by during a long trip and booked a room. Although they had a big sign saying "remodeled rooms!" our room was pretty old looking, although it was clean. We expected more for the price ($135 for a suite--3 beds). It was a hot Texas night, so we weren't surprised that it wasn't totally cool in the room at first. They had an extra fan in the room, so we thought we'd be alright. But two hours later with the A/C on max and our children sweating in their beds, we called the front desk and said we just couldn't stay any longer. They were polite, told us they wouldn't charge us for the room and we were on our way (to a cooler, WAY nicer hotel for the same price!). A few weeks later, we noticed they had in fact charged our credit card for the room. After calling and getting the run around, the manager finally got on and said they were going to charge us after all because clearly we intended to just use the room for a few hours. We weren't aware is was that kind of hotel ;-P Terrible!

Good hotel, game room, pool&hottub, internet, etc.

after a long drive we stopped there, they were rude and high priced but the only hotel left with rooms. We unloaded all of our things and went out to dinner. When we got back our key didn't work. They had to breaki into the room threw the window because the office couldn't get any of there keys to work. We decided to leave and keep driving because when they finally got us in our room there was a bug on our stuff!
