BEST WESTERN Magnolia Manor, Port Allen

Booked room for 2 nights. Immediately canceled 2nd night. The room had a strange odor. Avoid this place like the plague. Ditto to the former review from another customer.

As a seasoned traveler & a loyal patron of Best Western I wonder how they keep the franchise name. It is obvious the owners do not put much revenue back into their investment. When your room key-card is provided in an envelope that has been used over & over with erasures, it sends a signal: step back & ask for a refund immediatly. I would not board a German Shepherd there.

I'm not going to complain about the mess up with our room. That happens from time to time. I will say the lack of concern that it happened is one of the things that got to me. The guy behind the desk could have cared less that the reservation was messed up. And don't ask for extra towels or bed sheets. Apparently they only have enought towels to have 2 per room, no matter how many people are in the room. And they only have one set of sheets per bed. Which makes me wonder about how clean they really are. I will never stay at this place again. The guy at the desk was rude, (what else do you expect from a foreigner) and in no way did he want to help us with our situation. Hope this Best Western finds better people to run the hotel.

we are on our way back to florida from family visit. this is the most easy access motel with a big parking lot while u have RV with u.that was good for us. hotel looks nice from exterior and from inside its clean too. staff looks very professonal and well dressed. beds are very comfy and soft. but we think carpet in the hallway need to be changed and need to change the lighting. else is very nice, we really satisfied what we paid. internet connection was good. we didn't wait for breakfast cause we left early. but hope it might good like everything else.

it is convienently located with the restaurant in the same parking lot. exterior is nice (new paint), inside coridor , staff was friendly and professionaly uniformed. we read review that this motel had ants prob in 2005 but still we tried it and we success.THERE WERE NO ANTS-BUGS. beds were comfy. just carpet might need to replace or it was in just our room dont know. overall it was pleasant and friendly stay.

I liked nothing about this place, the pool, carpets, beds, bathroom, everything was nasty. The front desk help were rude, and most of the cleaning staff were rude. We were not given the room that we reserved and they charged extra because I quote " No matter what Our rate signs or advertisements say We can charge what ever We want to and if you don't like it you can leave." I would not suggest that anyone stay at this place besides there is a Holiday Inn Express across the road and they are MUCH BETTER!!!!! PS They have awful internet service and the cell phone reception is very poor.
