Very GOOD!
By ,
I don't know where these bad comments are coming form but whatever. I loved it. You don't NEED to have a beach view. WHAT are you going to do with that, watch the waves? BIG WHOP. Have the mountain side where it is cheaper and walk literally 5 MINUTES to the ocean and naama bay. I lived in egypt for 4 years.........the clubs in Naama bay are nice. The staff is nice. Everything's good, but you've got to understand, that you need to brush up on your arabic. I personally think they'll be nice to you if you're egyptian or arab, not that they wont like westerners but still.

Won't be back
By ,
We were disappointed to find we'd been put in the mountain side of the hotel, not the beach side. This was due to the fact that 70-80% of the rooms are on the mountain side of the hotel, separated from the beach side by a very busy, four lane highway. Silly us thinking that a "resort" hotel at Sharm el Sheikh should be on the beach! However, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety. We ate a disappointing meal at the Japanese restaurant, our local franchised Japanese restaurant does it better and for half the cost. Taxis to Naama Bay cost around 25 Egyptian pounds. If you want to save money, use the blue minibuses which cost 1 Egyptian pound a head and can be hailed anywhere. The hotel tried to pull a fast one on our final day there when they expected us to use their transit bus, even though we'd paid full price for a limousine. We stood our ground and got the limousine. Not the sort of service you'd expect from a quality hotel.

We love Egypt
By ,
my friend and i ( both being female)stayed for 11 nights at the marriott mountain resort and had a great time. we loved the friendly and very hard working staff. for breakfast the choice was extensive with something to suit everyone's taste. the pools were lovely but most of all the private beach was our favourite place and it was here that we were well looked after by the staff.we did lots of swimming and snorkeling in the day and at night we found lots of different places to eat and drink. we went to 1001 nights fab belly dancing! although we travelled as 2 lone women we were a little wary or the men but after 2 days we really had a laugh with them and they have a great sense of humour. can't wait to return and we'll recommend it to everyone thanks for a great holiday pen and becca from staffordshire.

Airport transfer
By ,
The weather in Febuary is great, The hotel is fairly good, if you are fortunate to get a room that doesn't look out onto a wall 2 metres from your window ( with no balcony) The staff are very friendly and helpfull although the reception staff seem to be overworked and keep you waiting. My wife and I paid the Marriott hotel through our travel agent £40 GBP for a limousine airport transfer, but this did not happen as we were transferred by their free shuttle bus. On complaining to the hotel reception we were told that a Limousine transfer did not exist and that we would have to take the complaint up with our travel agent to retrieve our fee, the receptionist simply did not want to know about our problem. You might ask is it the travel agent at fault, but we know that is not the case, we were there at the time of booking while she spoke with the hotel Marriott staff and booked the Limousine there and then and asked for the £40 GBP. We have stayed at 3 Marriott Hotels this was not the best, but still good just beware what you pay for. You may not get it.

My bad experience at Marriott Sharm El Sheikh
By ,
I have recently stayed at the Marriott Sharm El Sheikh resort in Egypt (16/10/2007 – 19/10/2007) and I was shocked of the status of this hotel in comparison to the other Marriott hotels I have visited or stayed in including the one in Cairo. The hotel location, entrance, and main lobby are great and give the sense of a modern high standard hotel, but the problem is with the staff, and the rooms. The rooms are so old and in un-maintained shape. Some of the floor tiles are broken, and others are not fixed to the floor. The white cement between the tiles has changed to black. The room furniture is also old, cheap, and lacks any modesty or style. The wooden furniture is scratched, and the linens are old. The toilet was miserable; fully white, but turned into grey because of the dirt and all the white cement joints are black. The WC had a leakage and the flush tank made loud sounds when the water was filling the tank after flushing. It lacked basic items such as cotton buds and loaf. My wife could not even take a shower, and she booked at the beauty saloon for shampoo while we were there. When I checked inn, I was given a twin bedroom although I have requested a single king size bed. When I called the front desk, and told them that this is not what I have requested, the front desk staff, and his name was Sherif, replied saying that they don’t have any king size bedrooms, and he sarcastically told me that I must have done the booking months back, when I told him that I have booked for a king size bed before arriving. When I spoke to someone at top management whom I knew through one of my friends, I was immediately given a king size bedroom at the third level, so why I was not given this room through the front desk when I requested it. In the room, you can hear all the noises from the corridor, so if you want to get a good sleep and noises bother you, you will have to forget your sleep, or sleep after all the guests sleep. The check-in and out took me about half an hour each, which is too slow. We had no problems in checking in or out but the process is so slow and the staff attend more than a customer at a time, and answer calls while I was standing there waiting to complete my check in/ out.
