Del Rey Hotel, San Jose

This hotel has awful service and many hidden charges. It is loud and hard to sleep. There are many cheaper and better places to stay.

For the male traveler, there is no place better to spend your money. Hotel itself is very nice: clean rooms, good food, prompt service, etc. But it's all about the girls at the Del Ray. On a busy night, there are over a hundred girls that want to get to know you for one hour at a time. The vast majority of the girls are pretty and a good portion of those are drop dead gorgeous ($100, unless you want to negotiate). The Del Ray is also within walking distance of numerous "massage parlors" where you can spend some of your afternoon with a pretty girl for less than $40. As you can imagine, I'll be going back.

That's what this place is all about. And it lives up to the hype. If you are going to Costa Rica to get some action this is the spot. I would recommend using a site like costaricawomenlist if you want to avoid the bar scene for a night or two, as it can get a bit exhausting. The girls will come right to your room, so it is really easy. Get ready for the time of your life!!

I love Costa Rica. Beautiful Country, nice people, and one big ugly city (San Jose). Hotel Del Rey is the only reason to be in San Jose. If you are a foreigner, it is where you want to be. Mucho ladies, casino and a club right across the street. The food is good but food is good all over Costa Rica. Just dont think you will find a lady to be your lady. Remember you cant make a Ho a housewife

I've been going to the Hotel Del Rey for almost 15 years and it is far and away the best deal in town! There are swankier places and there are cheaper places; but for the money(last time I checked a nice room was about $65), the amenities(there's gambling, a bar full of ladies and every booze known to man and a great restaurant) as well as information and travel agency/guides right in the lobby, you can't beat it! If you're the shy, retiring type, just call down to the desk and ask them to send whatever you want to your room...it will arrive within minutes, hot fresh and delicious!!!

I would highly recommend anyone considering to visit Costa Rica, to make the Hotel Del Rey a must see.. You will not regret it. The women are very friendly, not pushy, and very beautiful.

US-$ 100,-- : the stupid gringo-rate, US-$ 70,-- : enough. Haggle! Service is ok. Casino and restaurant are nice. Near Parque Morazon and Nightclub Key Largo.

Just stayed there and going back for New Year's Eve. However, booking a room there last minute can be a real hassle...I sent an e-mail but it was not returned for two days...between that time, I called and was told the hotel was completely sold out. I later get a return e-mail telling me I have a room...we shall see. The hotel is convenient and the place to stay if you simply want to relax, gamble a little, drink some free beer while gambling, and watching the myriad woman walking around. I love it.

Excellent Service, Centeral location for all activities. Casino and other entertainment on site. Friendly atmosphere, with restuarant across the street and bar on site.
