disgusting....

By far the filthiest hotel with the rudest people I've ever experienced. You're better off pitching a tent in front of it.........

this hotel is dirty and the service is rude and mean. they got mad when i asked for some clean towels and told people they had no hot water for tea beacause it was broken and they could have coffe or nothing. the place was a flea bag motel. spend a little extra and go somwhere else.

Find another place to stay
By David J, 08/31/09
The room was nothing fancy and for over $100 a night your would expect a little more. The lady working Saturday morning (tall blonde with glasses) was very nice and helpful. Thinks went down hill from there. My wife went outside and I went to get something to eat and she realized that I had the one room key. She asked if another was available at the front desk "Nope" was the response. No other offer to help. Sunday morning while waiting for friends in the lobby, it was apparent that the stafff had a party in the private are the night before. Listened to the Front Desk clerk (a tall young blond girl) lecture what appeared to be an employee - could not tell for sure as NONE had name tags or uniformsm lecture her about how the coffee ALWAYS needed to be filled. and that she was tired of babysitting everyone around here. Several other people walking around apparenlty hung over from the party and just as rude. I will gladly find another hotel to stay at next time I am in the area. One more thing. You really have to look for it.It has one small sign and a small driveway and that is it..

Wouldn't go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/09
It was basically clean. That's the best I can say about it. One key only, no extras, no TV remote, the pool is tiny and under a tree... just not a great place although still over $100!

We will be back!!
By Espi, 05/04/09
We had a great experience this last weekend staying at the Super 8 in Mariposa. Before booking, I called and made sure the motel was under new management, I was told it was, and the motel was a work in progress. The parking lot was clean and had a great view of the beautiful hills. We were greeted by a friendly staff and the motel in general was clean. The carpet was old, but I was told it was getting replaced slowly. I was not going to sleep on the floor so this was fine with me. My kids felt comfortable and safe as did I, video cameras filled the halls. The location was awesome, walking distance to downtown, which worked out perfectly for us since we were there for The Butterfly Festival. The staff was very friendly and made conversation, which made us feel welcomed and at home. The beds were comfortable and my whole family slept well. The room came with a refrigerator and microwave, which came in handy when we wanted to heat up our leftover pizza for a night time snack. I recommend The Super 8 if you are looking for to stay in a place with a great location at a reasonable price. We will be back! I am happy with my choice to give The Super 8 a chance despite its negative reviews in the past.

Progress not perfection
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/08
Was informed property under new management. Staff seemed to work in correcting snags. Room was clean & tidy. Breakfast was fresh & light enough to start your days adventures. I personaly would return to see things as they change. Some minor inprove ments maybe needed but seem to be on right track... Yours in travel

Worst motel experience ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/07
The lobby was dingy and smelled like cigarette smoke. I was charged an extra $9 dollars for using my credit card rather than using cash to pay for the room. My room looked like it had been hurriedly put together. The bedsheets, towels, walls, and carpet were stained. I had to force myself to sleep on the bed and was so disgusted I didn't even use the blanket. The shower was so dirty and mildew-laden, I wore my flip flops into the shower. The bathroom supplies were not replenished, there were two tissues left in the tissue box and no extra roll of toilet paper. You are required to check in at the front desk in if you want to get any ice and they charge you and extra $2 if you want to fill your ice chest. The kitchen area was old and dirty. The "Superstart or Complimentary Breakfast" included two tubs of cereal, some coffee, bananas, toast, and a community jar of jam. I woke up early the next morning so I could check out of the motel before I caught some disease or parasite. During check out, the front desk person’s uniform was dirty and torn. I would never return to this motel.

Despite the negative reviews
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/07
I believe this hotel is not that bad. Reviews were made in 2006, so I wouldn't know about the service before. The pool is still closed, and somewhat filthy, they say it will be drained and reopen in the summer. Room was clean, and didn't have much problems, I was gone most of the day to Yosemite. Breakfast was ok, cereal, bread, coffee, etc. Other than that, I believe that is a correct review of it now.

Filth for $130 a night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/06
Sleep in your car before you stay in this dump! Ms Rachel Bains, the manager, gave our party of 4 a booking for 2 nights. On arrival, we couldn't believe the room--it was filthy & stank. I've seen better furniture in Houston's homeless shelter. the "beds" consisted of 3 mattresses stacked up & shoved against the wall. The sheets were so thin you could see the mattress through them, and were they nasty! The other "bed" was an old futon. No bedside furniture--an old broken bedside table was shoved against another wall. "Something" had been thrown at the only picture in the room & oozed down the room. Ms. Bains dog came into the room while we were settling in to rub his butt on the carpet. The room smelled so bad we kept the window open all night. In the morning, we looked down at the pool--it was thick and green--a deathtrap! We checked out the next morning & Ms Bains was angry & charged us an extra $130 for not giving 24 hours notice! We complained to Cendant, the owner of the Super8 brand and they said they sent our comments on to the hotel. They should yank their name off this hotel. Kish Naik is the franchisee.
