Desert Quail Inn, Sedona

Ignore the earlier reviews...the hotel has been nicely updated. Rooms are modernized, but still have a cozy feel. The king-size room with fireplace was really nice and the mattress was very comfortable. The pull-out couch was okay for our 7-year-old, but could use a more comfortable mattress. Staff was very friendly, responded quickly to our request for an extra blanket. Location is a little off the beaten path, but not too far from the main shopping/ eating district. Rates are really good for Sedona!

The Desert Quail Inn looked nice in the Arizona. Automobile Association tour book. And for $99, my wife and I thought it would be better than staying at the Super 8 in Cottonwood, Arizona. Wish we would have stayed at Cottonwood. We only stayed one night, and was not in the room for more than 1 hour, except for sleeping. Here is what was experienced: 1. The two queen sized beds were hard as a rock. I have a bad back, and was concerned that the hard mattress would do harm to my back. We slept on our backs, because trying to sleep on our sides would hurt. After I awoke, the floor seemed softer than the bed. 2. The walls yielded lots of noise. At 4 a.m, another guest left, and we could hear coughing and toilets flushing from other rooms. 3. The toilet made a crashing, very loud noise each time it was flushed, enough to make you hold your ears. 4. The paint in the bathroom was in gross need of repair--lots of paint peeling from the bathroom ceiling. Gave the feeling of being an a very low budget motel in a run down part of a downtown area. 5. Only one (1) key was initially provided at the time of check-in. Received an additional key upon request--a good thing because the original key did not open the door. 6. Sink aerator was clogged, spewing water around the vanity. 7. Vanity discolored. I wish we could get a refund, as I feel our $100 was a waste of money. Sleeping in the car would have been better.

Place was highly recommended by person been going there for yrs, however when that person & I, and another stayed, it didn't measure up. There was no fruit basket in the rm, as had been in past & touted by brochure as awaiting you in rm. Also, second evening brought back left over food from restaurant to reheat in microwave. Guess what? No microwave in room! Also no coffee pot in room! Place is now equivalent to staying in a budget motel, but the price isn't budget.

This place has no internet access in the rooms. Well, except for "dial-up" but I haven't had dialup access for years. The strange thing is that they actually have a wireless transmitter, but won't let guests use it. Find someplace else...

The staff members were very attentive and helpful. We were always greeted with a smile. The room was clean and spacious. The pool area was also quite nice. I would stay at the Quail Inn again.

Lovely room with nice comfortable beds, very clean.Great location for visiting the area, staff very friendly and helpful ,near shops and restaurants, a good sports bar five minutes walk away.

I stayed at this Inn for two nights and I really loved it. It is a little bit far from Uptowm Sedona but it is good if you want to avoid many tourists. I would stay there again.
